"I saw the front of Nakamura and thought it could be an authentic Japanese Resto with A Japanese chef/owner. The logo etc.. A hunch of a Japanese national. Today I finally had a chance to have lunch there. Took me awhile to decide as real Japanese dishes were placed one after another on neighboring tables! I finally decided on Chirashi sushi bowl. It came with a small salad and miso soup. The misi soup was so.. Good! Naturally the chef took time to make his own stock - confirmed by a server. Quite a few Japanese restaurants that I frequent in Vancouver. This miso soup was a tie or slightly even better than my favorite miso soup at Minami Aburi sushi in Yaletown! The Chirashi sushi was very good, fresh fish of good varieties. Good sushi rice with the right amount of vinegar.. A couple slices of eggs were made well. I will be returning very soon to try their mini kaiseki lunch. And later for dinner.. It is worth visiting Kerrisdale for this jem."

"I had the sushi pizza and salmon teriyaki prawns with my friend and they were both incredible! The food here is very creative and tasty. You can tell from their food that they use high quality ingredients and special sauces that are highly addictive. My friend and I have now found our go to sushi place in Vancouver!"

"After a very long, hot, travel day, we wanted a low-key, lighter fare, relaxing dinner. Shizyena turned out to be the perfect spot. Our group of four enjoyed a great variety of sushi rolls and sashimi, along with a nice spicy tofu dish. The staff was also very attentive to one member of our group who cannot eat gluten."
