"I've been living in the Bankstown area for more than 15 years but have never tried this restaurant despite noticing it opening awhile ago.We had a craving for some Japanese food this evening and as it was convenient due to distance, decided to give it a shot.Whilst the atmosphere and service cannot be faulted, we found the cuisine to be only marginally above average.It's acceptable for a quick Jap style fix but it's definitely not the same as you would get dining in the city at somewhere like Wagaya. I'd probably return again if I have a craving for Japanese and didn't want to travel.4 out of 5"

"The most popular soup in a Vietnamese restaurant is a beef Pho and the one at Gia Hoi is excellent. A picture tells a thousand words and the beef Pho is huge, tasty and a meal in itself. The photo was taken after the bean shoots and basil leaves were added."

"Yep so this is the third place on the same street where I've ordered the exact same dish and this by far is the best. Dong Ba was good yes and Gia Hoi a close second, but in selecting a favorite you would be nitpicking because Bankstowners are really spoilt for choice. The simple taste yet long preparation time in the broth precedes the freshness of the meat (which still continues to cook in your bowl upon serving with the piling of fresh beansprouts and herbs into the rice noodles. Bathing in the cinnamon, clove and star anise marrow broth – the final fragrance that reels you in with soup spoon and chopsticks is so intoxicating."

"This little caffe is a surprise. I went first to a 'top up' breakfast after I was deeply disappointed by what was offered in a certain city hotel where I had spent the night. since I had in front of a medical appointment in bankstown time, I am moved into this little caffe on the corner south terrace and restwell street. I ordered a egs. my court arrived immediately and was presented beautifully. two perfect 'cook ' poached eggs on sourdough brot; a perfect avocado thin cut, with olive oil and likewise perfectly pan-fried kirsch tomaten basilikum dipped. all for $11! I have returned to the caffe several times, also with family members and can recommend any breakfast dish. my sister loved the one with the smoked laugh. the personal is careful and the place is perfectly clean."
