"Awful pizza. Bought the New Haven Clam pizza and it was bone dry flavorless. The clams were small, rubbery and had no flavor. The pizza was also stiff as a rock when picked up (see photo). The dough was all crunch, like it had been fried and did not have the signature chewy texture of good pizza. Called to complain about the order and the manager was very rude, said they would issue a credit to us and hung up the phone. Doubtful we'll see that credit or ever want to go back and use it. What a terrible place."

"Before I continue with my review, I must mention that I love supporting local, small businesses. My intention on leaving a less than four star review (I would have left 2.5 stars, but rounded up) is never to jeopardize the reputation of the restaurant. However, as a consumer that appreciates honest reviews, I must leave truthful feedback.My experience is a reflection of a carry out order from last week. Here were a few concerns that I had.1. You may want to call before you go to The Blacksmith. According to their Google Hours they are open until 9:30pm, and I called between 7-7:30pm to place an order for carry out. I was respectfully informed that my order needs to be placed by 8pm because they were slow, and would be closing early. I was surprised to hear this as they open at 4pm. Unreliable hours are something that as a customer I can get frustrated with (especially if it's not noted on their Google Business Profile). On another occasion, my husband and I wanted to go there for a date night at around the same time in the evening, and were turned away (this was a couple of months ago).2. Their menu may not be a reliable source of information.As part of my order, I got a side salad.What I was expecting as detailed exactly by their menu: SIDE SALAD Greens, tomato, cucumbers, red onions, eggs, cheese blend and croutons What I received: Greens with a couple of chunks of cucumbers.I was also surprised that the side salad was $5. Very sub par quality for what the price is. I would pay $5 for a great side salad, but I wouldn't have even expected to pay $1.50 for what I received.3. I also tried the Ribeye Steak Sandwich. I was looking forward to a larger, tender piece of meat on a fresh hoagie, but was disappointed when I received small, not-so-tender pieces of meat on a dry hoagie bun.4. Their French Onion Soup was a plus for me! It was not too salty, and had a hint of sweetness to it. And I believe it would have been even better if I had eaten it in the restaurant!I am hoping that my experience isn't an accurate representation of The Blacksmith as I had high hopes for a well marketed, nice restaurant."

"Overall good experience, the food presentation was great, the atmosphere was nice and clean. Got jalapeños on the side of the nachos but wasn’t warned anything else would be spicy which it def was. Too spicy for the kiddos to eat unfortunately. We typically get nachos at restaurants and read the description to ensure to get spicy on the side if possible. The fish was very, very greasy but it was tasty. Def worth upgrading to the truffle fries. 4/5"

"Second timer. Saturday night pre-summer. Why is this place dead? Even in the outdoor space, only a few people. I really like this place- ambiance, service, eats, drinks, loungy tunes- it has it. Zinfandel $10) was fruity and robust. The Margherita Flatbread $9) was so good we had to order two. They had a special on the board that sound fresh and warm weather-y: spanakopita with hummus $12). Flavorful and filling. They did nickle and dime for extra pita bread $1). One request/suggestion: as a wine bar, it would be nice to offer wine flights or 3 oz pours. Will I be back? I like the wine list and the kitchen is spot on. Yes. Not too much for the vegetarian except for what we ordered."
