"We had a superb evening at Amélie. Everything was perfect from start to finish. It was our first visit and we’ll definitely be back for more. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. We started with the best Negroni I’ve ever tasted. We...shared delicious small plates as a starter. The Chicken and Nduja croquettes were an absolute triumph. Mains followed and didn’t disappoint. We had the Fritto Misto (incredibly tender calamari and aioli with a wow factor) and a scrumptious Salami Pizza. The wine list is excellent and having the option of a carafe is something that I wish more places would offer. We had one white (a lovely French Viognier) and one red (a superb and powerful St Emilion). All in all it was great quality dining, with a cool, casual vibe and excellent value for money. The team were very friendly and showed incredible patience and dignity when faced with some rather embarrassing behaviour from a table within our vicinity who appeared to be trying to find fault with everything! Even if I had tried to find fault, I wouldn’t have been able to. It was an absolute delight and I cannot wait to go back. Thanks team Amélie!"

"What a find this little gem was. Down the bottom end of town but eye catching when you walk up to it and extremely welcoming when you entered. Menu catering for all. We just wanted a small bit and can highly recommend the Parmesan Fries, fully covered from top to bottom in Parmesan and the Aioli mayo side accompanying was perfect."

"We ate as a large family. Lovely location and premises but virtually empty which was worrying. Didn't do half size portions of steak for the children and I thought the prices were a bit steep for what ended up on the plate, bearing in mind mackerel is a very cheap fish. It was all cooked well but the portion sizes left a bit to be desired. Staff were over pretentious and we had to listen to a description of all the beers they had on sale. Just be friendly and efficient and be able to answer any questions diners may ask! Overall, dissapointing but not a disaster. May suit other people but we found better in the village. Not suprised that they are ranked low in St Agnes. Who knows, they could turn it around and be a successful eateries in the future."
