"This restaurant (in the northwest corner of nanaimo and broadway) is less than miles from the broadway commercial skytrain station in east vancouver. if they are on the Skytrain system, they will get off at broadway and commercial and take the eastbound bus on broadway. the coworker of my spouse invited us to dinner on Wednesday night. the restaurant has dining areas – the main dining area and more separate small rooms that any accommodation might or tables. there was ordered by us and much too much food. many rests! we had the following: • peking duck courses) – crispy skin with crepes lettuce wrap • alaska king crab courses) – crooked in garlic sauce, deep fried knuckles with garlic chips and cut jalapenos, noodles with left garlic sauce from the crab legs we had crabs for the trip. the peking duck was cut on a side table and then served with the crepes, scorpions, garnel and hoisins sauce. the second cure consisted of the cubes served with iceberg salat leaves and hoisin sauce. both courses are some of my favorites. the friend has also preordered a pfund alaska king crab that the server has shown us before he prepared it for dinner. I was told that the king Crab season just started and that the crab might not be as delicious as later in the short season. first of all, let me say that this is the first time that I had prepared crab for this wise. in the past, I would have only damped crab legs with garlic butter. the first cure came with plates of beins in a garlic sauce (many of chopmeat garlic). the legs were cut wrong after our friend. the legs should have been completely divided in the length to free all the flesh. the restaurant had split the legs, but not both sides makes it difficult to extract the meat with the two forks. yet I really enjoyed the crab because it was juicy and delicious. the garlic sauce from this cure was reserved for a vegetarian noodle dish served at the end of the meal before dessert. the second cure consisted of deep fried body pieces (including ankles) with many deep fried garlic chips and cut jalapenos. it was very good. the deep fried garlic and jalapenos would have been a good spicy for a bowl with steamed rice or noodles. the price of a great crab is forbidden after my opinion if they do not go with a party of or more men; I guess somewhere between pro pfund (in season) or more depending on the demand after the offer. I have also read that when they order a smaller crab, they receive “less bang for the Buck” because there are more inedible parts regarding the crabbon meat and ankle. the court was a pan fried spargel with sea gurke. this dish was also delicious. the next dish was a pan fried garlic stem with thin cut marinated pigs bauch (same cut of meat as beside bacon). I would order this court again. the steamed chopped with salted fish was ok. the crispy chicken (I think it was baked in a salt crust was juicy and tender despite the fact that it was baked in salt, it was not too salty. the second to last dish was made the noodles with the reserved garlic sauce. for dessert we had ingwer infused white custard. the taste was unusual as he was sweet with a ginger taste. the service was good as the dirty dishes were taken away on an as-need basis and the teekanne was refilled regularly. eating was above average overall I would eat and service out"
