"We had the most wonderful dinner with friends. The food was fantastic, the cocktails were top notch and as always, we had impeccable service. We always do! We have been coming to this restaurant for years (back when it was Trio) and always love having El as our waiter. He is absolutely phenomenal. Joe, the sommelier always makes sure we are taken care of as well. The whole team there is amazing! My husband had the rack of lamb which was cooked as requested: medium rare, as it should be! The whipped potatoes and Brussels sprouts were a great size for 4 adults to share. Mind you, 4 adults who also had a couple of amazing appetizers as well. We got the house rolls and empanadas. Yummy! The house rolls are served warm with sides of butter and honey. Can’t go wrong with anything you order, it is always cooked to perfection. Others have said this place is overpriced but honestly it is The Four Seasons in downtown Austin, of course it is going to be pricey."

"Great place to step back and share a meal with a friend at a more casual pace. Can be done at lunch, but it is also a wonderful break for breakfast. The outdoor terrace is quiet. Food is very good breakfast is my favorite, bread and pastries are delicious with a variety, their soups are simply wonderful, coffee(s) are also great. I go here 4 5 times a week to read, to journal and just relax. The staff can be very friendly if you take the time to engage them in not peak hours. This is not intended to imitate a 5-star French restaurant to enjoy good food with good friends in a relaxing atmosphere."

"Very disappointed at this point. The dining room did not appear clean. My sandwich was not made as I lived in other places. My friends soup was cold. To be fair, it was close to the closing time."

"It 's sad that their bakery burnt down, but this new little trailer is in a nice place with some shade and outdoor seating. The staff was friendly, and seemed to be busy. They didn 't have a lot of customers when I arrived, but I saw a lot of to go type orders were being made while we were there. It felt like it was slow, but overall they made a lot of food fairly quickly, so I think it was just a matter of perspective. It wasn 't helpful that I had a deadline to meet, so it made it seem to take forever, but that 's on me.The food was good, but the prices are shockingly high. Honestly, I was taken aback. A latte is $6. It was good, but I 'd much rather get a large Summermoon latte for less. For my 1 turkey sandwich, it was $17! It was very tasty, I 'll admit, and I don 't think I 've had anything like it in Austin. We treated a friend to essentially an egg sandwich on an English muffin and it was $12 or $13! I thought Starbuck 's breakfast sandwich was pricey, but I was wrong. I can 't say I 'll be going back again any time soon, who can afford to?Bottom line: pretty good food, at an awfully high price."

"We’ve been coming here for the past three years for our anniversary. The first year, no acknowledgment of our anniversary happened even though the next table was decorated and a slice of cake was given as a gift. Our mimosas were delivered minutes apart and I had to ask about what they do for anniversary dessert. Our server took care of us after that. Oh well, even though the reservation said it was our anniversary, maybe that was just a fluke. The next year was better even during covid. We sat outside near the fountain. This year was our anniversary. Our adult kids joined us for the first time. The table was decorated and outside seating was lovely. Sadly, our server seemed to go out of his way not to acknowledge our event. We were charged for our slice of pie and the service was poor at best. Plates were stacked up on our very small table for four and after asking to be cleared, was not cleared until the end of the meal. I waited tables over a decade and this is not difficult. His rudeness overshadowed our special day. I’m not sure why someone works in the service industry only to provide poor service. Sad to say, we won’t be going back next year. It’s just too iffy and there are plenty of restaurants that deeply care about their customers. We are born and raised in Austin and it’s disappointing since Chez Zee has been an Austin staple since our childhood. I’m sure we’ll be back for non-event brunch since my husband loves the tenderloin benedict."
