"Whenever we stay at the complex, we always dine in the restaurant. The Restaurant is open to non residents and now offers half board options to residents. Personally we always go a l carte. The piri piri chicken is as good as anywhere on the Algarve and other plates of Sea Bass, salads, Mixed Grill are always readily available and at a very cheap cost. probably up to 50% off the marina prices If you get a chance, grab a lunch or dinner, and definitely enjoy the pleasant service from the bar and waitress staff. Last night, we decided to have take away, the omelette again for the wife and I had the mixed grill there was so many potatoes and meat left over just too filling and less than 20 euros"

"I almost don 't want to tell anyone how amazing this restaurant is in case I find myself back there and unable to get a reservation. Rather than go into town and have to deal with taxis (especially with a 1 year old baby in tow), we decided to visit L 'Olive, the restaurant in the clubhouse of Hotel Vila Sol. From beginning to end it was a tremendous experience. Walking in you 're struck by the most beautiful lighting, ambience and wall murals. You 're then in the safe hands of the staff who delicately bring you through each of the most wonderful dishes. The food rivaled any of the Michelin star restaurants I 've been too and was a complete surprise. The delightful breads and olive oils from throughout Portugal, a fish soup they lovingly call fish capuccino , and the pineapple carpaccio with chilli infused ice cream were particularly memorable but it was all superb. We loved it so much the first time we went straight back again the next night and despite choosing different things second time round, it lived up to very high expectations. Well done to all at L 'Olive. I hope you get the acclaim you deserve in the weeks and months to come."

"I hate giving bad reviews but this place was near where we were staying and on a drizzly night with the offer of a free drink each, we were tempted in by the guy outside touting for business. Service was good and prompt and restaurant was comfortably warm. But the food wasn't great. My wife had veal steaks and I had a rib eye. Maybe we should have stuck with our usual preference of fish. But the veal was too dry and tasteless and the rib eye wasn't the best quality meat but cooked nicely."
