"I like Vento in Poppa...I really do. The food is very good. The chef nicely walks that fine line between creativity, while still satisfying in a simple way. The waitstaff this year has been upgraded from some inexperienced waitresses to a more professional group. The setting is great...laid back, nice music, seaside right out in front of you...all good. Overall, they do a very good job here. So, why a 3 ??? Having eaten here 5 or 6 times I 'm sorry to say that the thing I don 't like Vento in Poppa is that the hostess/owner does not make you feel welcome...she 's dour. Rarely hospitable. Whether it 's when making your reservation, taking your order or taking your money at the end of the evening, she barely manages a smile or a half sincere grazie . Very disappointing. I don 't need somebody fawning over me, but I do expect a smile and a modicum of enthusiasm and appreciation especially in a crowded restaurante market in Civitanova. Come on! Make us feel welcome! Moving back to the positives, the tuna dishes here are great. They really know how to cook fish the right way. The octopus starter is delicious. There are a number of interesting appetizers, too. Pasta eaters tell me their pasta is terrific. So, if management can rise up to the level of the food and the ambiance, they 'd have a really good thing going here. Being nice doesn 't cost you anything!"

"This restaurant is right next door to our hotel so we gave it a try since it’s rated so highly on Trip Advisor. Everything tasted ok without being anything special. It’s basically greasy fried American junk food. I was surprised that the place was packed especially since there are so many very good local restaurants in Civitanova. I guess it’s trendy to go to an American eatery here since they don’t seem to have many ethnic restaurants to choose from. It was also quite expensive for what we had and it was weird that we had to order online from our table but then the waitress came along and took our order again."
