"Our favorite neighborhood restaurant has now become a shadow of its former self. Where we used to be greeted with smiles, now there was an impersonal indifference. Where we were treated as welcome guests, this time, it was almost with disdain. The food was completely inedible. We all ordered the Fillet de Manzo, always fantastic here with their green peppercorn sauce. Well, the sauce is gone, and we were handed pieces of meat that looked like shoe leather, and tasted worse than that. I asked for the sauce, and was offered mayonnaise. The waitress acted as though the steak never had a sauce, and suggested it was a different restaurant. We've been to Venice many times, and stay for long periods of time (a month!, usually), and would visit bi weekly. We know what we have ordered in the past. No one ever came to our table again once we showed our brown, thin, slabs to the waitress. No one. We had to get up to ask for the check. Won't return, sadly. Note that I've reviewed with five stars over the years, in past reviews this review is difficult to write and have made public. We've always enjoyed the room, the garden, the staff, the owner, the food all of it."

"We ate here twice on our trip to Venice and both times the wine, food and service were excellent. We came the first night without reservations and managed to get a table but I would recommend booking in advance as it is an intimate establishment and especially if you want to eat outside by the canal. (The manager speaks good English. The food and service were outstanding. The mixed seafood fry is to die for. Recommended by our hotel (Principe and we were grateful. Will definitely eat here again on our next trip to Venice."

"Waiters aggressively try to sell you appetizers and dessert, will not take no for an answer, and included an upcharge fee of 3% even after I clarified no tip. When I questioned the upcharge, they reassured me that the actual price was not including that and it wasn't until I checked my credit card statement that I saw they lied. Do not go here."
