"I recently dined at La Locanda del Gallo with my family while on vacation. The staff wasn’t too warm but wasn’t unfriendly. We started off with the crostini plate, which was very good. As I said in the title, the food was interesting, meaning not your typical Tuscan menu. For example, the crostini plate included a lard and rosemary crostini, which I have not seen anywhere else on my vacation. We ordered two pastas as a first course: ravioli with sage pesto and tagliatelle with meat sauce. The sage pesto ravioli, which is also something I have also never seen anywhere else, was bland and lacked the sage flavor, however the tagliatelle with meat sauce was very good. Mostly everybody at the table ordered the turkey cooked in milk and rosemary as an entree, and many dishes came out strangely lukewarm, however the staff immediately heated up the dishes. Pork dish was excellent, the beef shank was delicious, and the roasted potatoes were great! The dark chocolate cake and the panna cotta with peach sauce were fabulous. The most amazing part was the view. Very picturesque! We had an overall good experience."
