"Only restaurant on/near Maronti beach who has pizza. In addition these are very good pizzas. They even have something different-funghi porcini which are delicious mushrooms. Staff is very friendly and has good sense of humour."

"I ate several times in this characteristic restaurant in the village of nitrodi. this year the parking was renewed and the access road made more pleasant and safe. in summer I like to sit on the terrace overlooking the countryside, with pimps and onions to the ceiling and the tools hanging on the wall but also the interior is very cozy. rabbit with whiskers, the mixture of meat, fresh chips, white wine with percoche. Finally, a fantastic delight of lemon. also the appetizer with local specialties gouits is very pleasant. friendly and helpful staff and good value for money, at the moment I can say that it is one of my favorite places to dine on the island."

"We dined at Il focolare after hearing positive reviews from friends and also after viewing the Stanley Tucci discovering Italy show on CNN. The restaurant is high up in the mountains so we had to take a taxi to the restaurant. Locals told us we could also take bus #16 but we were running late. We were greeted by Sylvia, the oldest sibling of the family. We went with her recommendations for starting with the antipasto and white Ischian wine to accompany the rabbit alla ischitana. We loved everything we ate. The antipasto had many courses, one dish better than the next snd all were presented beautifully. The rabbit was delicious and we ordered the sliced fried potatoes as a side which soaked up the wine/ tomato sauce. Even though we were quite full we managed to eat the lemon cake. After dinner, Sylvia took us on a tour of the wine cellar and told us about the history of the restaurant and her family. She truly made our dining experience memorable. Please note that there is no wifi and my cell service didn’t work up in the mountains so luckily diners at another table their taxi home with us. I would suggest reserving your return taxi or asking Sylvia to order one for you. While in Ischia this is a must dinner experience. You will not be disappointed."

"A wonderful weekend concluded to the sources of the nymphs of nitrodi, equally beautiful was to conclude it with a lunch of Mario owner of the restaurant the wine cellar. lovely place as well as food. (we ate fish-based,) really fresh and delicious, cooked to perfection, friendly and caring staff. Without interest, I'm allowed to recommend it to all good goats. thank you Mr. Mario, a goodbye soon and a greeting from my daughter Alexandria."

"We had the most amazing evening at this wonderful restaurant. The food was absolutely incredible- it’s almost impossible to name our favourite dish! However what made the experience so magical was how the restaurant treated us like family and shared every element of the food/the wine/ their lifestyle with us that we we were interested in. It was such a magical evening in a glorious setting and we would strongly encourage anyone visiting Ischia to go- you will be delighted you did!
