"Went as a party of 15. Cold mediocre food, friendly but slow service and they tried to charge us for 3 people that did not show up. I could understand if it was preordered meals but it was just off the menu. NO reason to try to collect on meals not even ordered."

"The staff are wonderful, and attentive to all. It isn't the stuffy overbearing attention of some high end restaurants-relaxed, sociable and accommodating. I've been here a number of times with small groups of 4 to larger groups of a dozen, and all have had good experiences. Food is a little slow, but there isn't a rush when you are enjoying your evening! When it does arrive, the tastes are distinct and well prepared. Some complain about the location, but they are often busy- this shows that most will travel for good food."

"Downtown Hamilton location with great atmosphere and excellent food. There were three of us for lunch mid week. Our server was very attentive and informed us that the menu was new this week, and does change every week or so depending on local ingredients, and the creativity of the chef/owner. We sat in a cozy window seat near the woodburning pizza oven. With difficulty deciding, we opted to order three different menu items and share. The margarita pizza was delicious and fresh with basil and homemade sauce. Fabulous crust, thin, but not overcooked. Done to perfection. We also shared the parradelle pasta (may be spelled wrong)! which was a broad noodle made fresh that day. Again delicious. If you were having this as a main dish, the serving seemed small for the $$, but was certainly worth the taste. Lastly we also shared a wonderful beet, quinoa, greens, pumpkin seeds, etc etc. salad. The dressing was light with a bit of citrus. Very good. In all we enjoyed everything and would recommend Born and Raised and will go back again."

"Since this review. We 've been here over 5 times since and Born and Raised has really impressed. Service is great and food like always is delicious. Hate only giving this restaurant 3 stars but it only deserves 3 for my last two visits. Been here 5-6 times and have thoroughly enjoyed the first 4. Place looks amazing, food is delicious and love how the owner is involved, usually making the pizza 's. But the last two times we have been served by the same waiter and he has made both visits unpleasant. First visit, my girlfriend inquired about purchasing a painting on the wall and he looked and responded to her like she was an idiot. Second visit, we brought my kids and ordered their food right away so they can eat quickly (it was the meatballs) after waiting over 15 mins for him to come back, he walked passed me, I said 'excuse me ' and he rolled his eyes. I said, sorry, am I bothering you?. He then took our order and took a change for the better. Less than 10 mins later they served the pizza that I ordered, we waited to eat until the kids meatballs arrived which took an addition 10-15 mins. They then brought my girlfriends food, she ordered four scallops and he brought us two. I told him it was incorrect, he acknowledged it was his fault and asked if we wanted the other two but we declined because we didn 't want to wait an addition 20-25 mins for them. A few mins later he brought us a pasta dish, said 'fortunately for us, there was an extra one made ' like he was doing us a favor. No body at the table ate it because it had mushrooms and none of us like mushrooms. All said and done, I wasn 't looking for free food or a discount except maybe they should 've charged us half price for the 4 scallops instead of the full price for the two they brought us. The food we did receive was amazing, the wine was delicious (horseshoes and hand grenades). We 100% will return but I refuse to be served by that waiter again."

"We used to go to the Trocadero with my parents back in the 80's so I was intrigued when I saw the WagJag for prixe fix dinner for two. We were seated immediately upon arrival and bread was served immediately. The service was excellent and there was plenty of food. I ordered the veal scallopini. The sauce was excellent but would have preferred it with potatoes instead of polenta. I was so full that I took the red velvet cake home. A nice evening and a great deal."

"Celebrated our son's First Reconciliation dinner at La Cantina. We were greeted by the lovely hostess and our favourite italian music was playing in the restaurant. Ambiance was great, food was delicious, huge portions of authentic Italian cuisine compliments to the chef! Service was excellent and quick, our server Steve was wonderful. It is the perfect place for any special occasion. Thank you for a perfect evening in a little piece of Italy! ?? Leone Family"

"Great Californian red wine, amazing Cappelletti with crab spinach in a herb cream sauce (seriously recommend). Must note the Caesar salad was very tasty with pancetta. Next time I must make room for a cannoli."

"We enjoyed our lunch at the Express Italian Eatery. Our server seemed a bit overwhelmed, as she was the only waitstaff working. When the busser came over to answer our question, she seemed annoyed with him and he was only trying to help. We ordered the prosciutto classico and spaghetti alla milanese. The food quality and quantity were very good. We will visit again."
