"We stopped here for after a visit to the museum. From outside it’s a nice, modern glass building. We were greeted coldly and told we would have to wait 5 minutes if we wanted a table. As my boyfriend’s parents are over 80, and there was nowhere to wait but the narrow, draughty entrance area, we decided to go elsewhere. The surly (head? waiter took it badly saying our table was nearly ready, so we stayed. 10 minutes later he had forgotten us. I finally got his attention, and he rudely pointed to an empty table at the back. We sat at the bare table another 5 minutes before anyone acknowledged us. When a surly second waiter arrived he asked what we wanted to drink. I asked for a menu, then he said “No, but what do you want to drink?”. I said we wanted a drinks and food menu, as we were contemplating drinks and/or a snack. He set the table by literally throwing napkins and cutlery our way. By this time, we regretted staying. A third waiter came to take our order and, when we told him we wanted coffees, he rudely remarked he wouldn’t have given us a table if he had known we weren’t eating, as they had turned others away. There were about 4 empty tables around us, so this wasn’t very plausible. Not once did anyone tell us we had to order food whilst we were waiting. When we asked if we could order some cake, he told us it wasn’t possible until after brunch at 2PM (it was 1:30PM . Typical Swiss total lack of flexibility. We drank our coffees as fast as possible and left. We were embarrassed that our elderly visitors were so badly treated. The restaurant obviously lives from its location-if I could give them zero stars I would. Never again!"
