"Our resort (Playa Escondida) recommended Mary’s for lunch. They shared that it was an authentic Mexican restaurant and they were spot on with the recommendation. We took a few seats that are outside (literally in the street, but they are safe) and immediately a waiter was there to get us our drinks along with chips and an assortment of salsas. We settled on shrimp tacos and a shrimp quesadilla. The shrimp were grilled perfectly, they had just a little char that brought out their best flavor. The quesadilla was piping hot, made with a fresh flour tortilla. Not too much cheese, just right with a nice slaw of veggies inside. Before we left my wife took a look inside and shared that a small group of women were the cooks and all I can say is that they did an incredible job. Sodas were cold and service was perfect. If you are in Sayulita and want a great meal stop in at Mary’s. Note- they were closed on Sunday when we were in town, October 2023, so check their schedule if you want a chance to eat here."

"I can’t begin to describe how good the food was here. Hands down the best pasta I have ever tasted. The Quail Ragu was my favourite followed by the black squid ink pasta. I wasn’t a fan or tiramisu before I ate here now I’m a convert. A lovely atmosphere, great music, hosts and quiet away from the noisy main strip. A must visit if you are in Sayulita looking for top class food."

"Stunning views of the coast. The staff were amazing, fast service, all very friendly. We were there for brunch and they allowed us to order off the lunch menu as well. Avocado toast and fruit plate were a big hit. Sandwich was great and they had delish drinks. Restrooms were extremely clean. It was high surf and had rained that morning so unable to walk the beach, but surfers were out!"

"We went on a fishing trip excursion and were able to bring back some of our catch, a fish we were unfamiliar with called Bonita. We spoke to the restaurant manager, Miguel, about having them grill and serve our catch of the day to us. He was wonderfully enthusiastic about doing so, and introduced us to the chef, a lovely young lady I believe was named Christina. They asked what we would like as an appetizer, and suggested fish tacos tempura style. They then described how the main dish would be prepared by grilling with butter. We were blown away when the tacos were served, expecting to see four small tacos. We were each served three of the best looking and best tasting tempura shrimp tacos I’ve ever seen. After that, the main dish of grilled fish was dramatically served sizzling on a hot skillet with beautiful garnishment. The presentation was as impressive as the flavor, and our server Aldo did a fantastic job. What a fabulous experience on our guests’ final evening Villa del Palmer Flamingos!"
