"This place is sweet and romantic, but more suitable for vegetarians than vegans. There is a vegetarian board that can be made vegan by making the nuts and a schishito pepper appetizer. None of the entrees on the menu can be made vegan, but the cook made us a ratatouille that was pretty good. They offer a vegan tasting menu, cook choice, but we were not that by the options on it (a salad, schishito paprika, a rice dish with cauliflower and red pepper and a sorbet). No bad experience, but there are better ways for vegans."

"It was my sons birthday. We arrived a little early, were seated right away, but it took another 20 minutes to have the server come over to our table to give us menus. We were not asked if we wanted drinks at that time, we had to wait until she came back to take our order to be offered drinks. The services is normally very good, but maybe because they were a little busier they didn't do so well this time. We ordered two of the same appetizer, one arrived, we had to ask three times for the other one, which eventually arrived. The food was good, but not happy with the service this time round. Will be a while before we go again."

"I'm Spanish and I loved it. Tres Gatos is a lovely spot for friends or couples looking for good food, interesting wines, and a beautiful patio, which is best enjoyed during the magic hour. We were five and shared a lot of dishes; the Spanish tortilla (especially the Ali Oli), Albóndigas, chickpea fritters, and patatas bravas were my favourites. The wine selection was short but intriguing, with a few unconventional choices. Drinking Manzanilla from Sanlúcar de Barrameda was something I did not expect to do in Jamaican Plain and I loved it. Prices are fair. Portions have the right size and are carefully presented. The staff was extremely attentive and as friendly as it gets. I even got to joke a bit in Spanish. It gets very busy. Indoor dining was booked out. There's a waiting list for outdoor seating (no reservations) that you can get on talking to the host. At 7 PM on a Saturday it was a 45-min wait for 5 people, but it may be shorter if your party fits in a table for 2-3 people. Full disclosure: While out of Spain, I systematically avoid Spanish restaurants, having been let down too many times. Tres Gatos wasn't the case, even though some dishes were not exactly how a Spaniard may remember them, and I recommend you visit them."

"Everything we had was great!! I am vegan and gf, and the waitstaff made a suggestion of one of their veggie platters that had a bit of each vegan offering! It is a cozy restaurant with great music softly playing in the background! We will be back!"
