"Possibly the best seafood chowder I have ever had. Loaded with clams, mussels, fish. Rich and creamy, not pastey. It was a daily special so may not be on the menu every day."

"Only two blocks from hotel, so I walked down and waited while they made my pizza. It was very reasonable and the best pizza we've had in a long time. If ever in Prince Rupert, give them a try."

"I was craving pho but cannot eat msg and this restaurant made me a veggie based stock with no msg and took care not to cross contaminate. The pho was good. Pretty basic (I had beef meat) but was tasty. They also serve Canadian Chinese...besides the Vietnamese dishes."

"We were looking for a good old fried chicken in town and decided to try The Olive again. We are glad that we have done this because this recent experience has far exceeded our expectations and has left us the feeling of being woven! We felt that the chicken was above all... even better than KFC! In the premises we noticed a brighter and more inviting place to dune. We saw the tables and chairs stacked on the sides to observe physical distancing during this pandemic; we were definitely happy to see this as it shows on the initiative of the olive. It is good to see that they have invested in slim and cleaner wooden floors, before the previous carpet floors. The smaller number of dining tables made the restaurant more expansive. We like this look better. The service staff was attentive and efficient to ensure that we receive our drinks and cutlery and plates after our order. The menu is simple and a fusion of western chicken dishes and Indian cuisine with very affordable prices. From what we saw, the server and the kitchen staff seemed to work in a very good mood that added to the welcoming feeling of the place. We went for the chicken wings in buffalo sauce for our appetizer. They were horrific, the wings were crispy on the outside and so well in the inside of the buffalo sauce delivered a bit spicy kick, but it all combines well, which was one of the best buffalo chicken wings we had in the last memory. For our net we ordered the 3 pieces roasted chicken flour, which contains 6 pieces of Scojos and one side of Caeser salad. My partner ordered butter chicken, including Tandoori chicken, mildly seasoned curry sauce, rice and naan bread. At first glance we were amazed by the portions of the 3 pieces roasted chicken and the butter chicken dishes and both were carefully plated; they look like you want to stop them right away. The Ceasar salad comes almost in par with Rodos' Version the greens were crisp, many bacon bits, only enough crumbles, and very good salad dressing in a good portion. The fried chicken light batter was crispy and the meat boiled Oh so right with the taste you ask no more fatty to the taste at all. It made us think that the roasted chicken of Olive could be better than that of KFC. We recommend to order a help from Gravur with the roasted chicken shell as we have discovered, you can dip both the skin crispy scojos and friend chicken. The butter Chicken dish was delicious and full of taste. What we really appreciate about the dish is the authentic Tandoori chicken meat used, and the lightly spicy curry sauce has been put together so well. Compared with other places in the city (The Crest, Trishan, Rodhos), we feel that overall the butter chicken here in the olive is best overall. The design, refinement and aroma are all top notch. The Naan bread and rice also goes well with the curry sauce and create various textures. We were definitely impressed by the end of our meal. Staff also checked us to make sure we get what we needed and that the food is good. We would definitely be here for some good old fashion roasted chicken again. We really appreciate the only place in Rupert that specializes in roasted chicken and other chicken theme specialities. It is a wise move to focus on offering chicken signature dishes to the locals."

"Aroy-D is a relative newcomer to the Prince Rupert culinary scene. They opened their doors in October and, from what I've been able to see, are quite popular -- the "new restaurant" novelty hasn't worn off. I suspect that's a good thing since Rupert has a pretty depressed economy and has for some time.Anyway, I've visited this restaurant a number of times since it opened and have tried a few different things. But before I get to that, I should comment upon the space: They've certainly done a lot of work and have modernized the space from what it used to be. Now, it looks new, modern. . .Thai! Yes, like many Thai restaurants it is adorned with paraphernalia from the region almost to the point of being excessive, but that doesn't really bother me because, in this instance, it helps Aroy-D to stand out and look attractive. So many restaurants in town look old, dated and almost like they should be closed. I recognize that is very much a consequence of the ancient buildings many are housed in, but that's still no excuse for dirty floors and such. Thankfully, Aroy-D doesn't suffer from any of that. The menu is diverse, offering traditional Thai cuisine plus a few chef specialties; and, in case you're unfamiliar with Thai food, no worries! The owners have helpfully posted pictures of literally ALL of the menu items along the upper wall to give you a visual. And if that's still not enough, the servers are more than happy to explain the menu items to patrons. The food: The various pad thais are fantastic -- some of the best I've had. You can even adjust the level of heat to your liking -- just ask the servers! But the starters, on the other hand, really aren't that good: kind of oily and tasteless. I've tried both the spring rolls and the prawn rolls and they were disappointing. My recommendation? Go for the mains and avoid appetizer/starter dishes. All in all, Aroy-D offers a much needed alternative to the (mostly) bland offerings in town and does so at a reasonable price in a contemporary clean space. Check them out!FOOD: 3.5/5 (moderate rating because the appetizers suck)SERVICE: 4/5VALUE: 3.5/5RECOMMENDATION: If you like Thai food or just want to try something different, then this place is for you!"
