"We were staying at the Hotel Belvoir and were looking for a nearby place to have some lunch (we had already eaten dinner at the Belvoir the night before, which was delicious, but fairly expensive so we didn't want to eat every meal there!). We originally set out to find Da Toni's Italian restaurant, but they were closed for the summer holidays (!) so we walked a minute or so down the road to Rose. The restaurant is within walking distance of the Rueschlikon train and bus station and is nestled in among a quiet residential area. It had several (about 5) parking spots right outside which were reserved for restaurant customers only. It was easy to spot with cheery red umbrellas on all the patio tables and was quite busy for a Thursday lunchtime. We were seated quickly on the patio and handed menus in German (ok for me, not for my husband who knows no German!) however they were happy to explain in fluent English what certain things were on the menu. They have may have even had an English menu, but we didn't ask for it.They brought out a basket of bread before our meal which we promptly demolished - bread is always good :) As well as the full menu, they had 3 'set' meals: 1 Vegetarian, 1 Meat and 1 Fish. I had the Vegetarian, which was ravioli caprese and my husband had the Meat, which was a chicken leg, roast potatoes and vegetables. The set meals also came with a choice of a soup of small salad - we both opted for a salad, which was a small lettuce based plate with a balsamic dressing - just fine for a light lunch. Our main courses were both delicious and we were both full afterwards. The total was about 50 CHF (including two bottles of water) which is entirely reasonable for Switzerland! Our waiter (who may also have been the owner/manager) gave me a rose as we paid and left - a nice touch!"
