"Well this has to be Forfar well kept secret!! We never knew that it existed until hubby was speaking to two locals! He asked if they could suggest somewhere for a nice lunch and this was the first one they came up with and we were not disappointed! For starters I had crispy deep fried Brie with cranberry sauce! Hubby had ham broth! Then I had steak and onion baguette homemade coleslaw which was delicious and chips hubby had 12oz sirloin had to be seen to be believed! Mushrooms,onions,tomatoes, fried egg and chips and small jug gravy, then strawberry pavlova, Caramel apple crumble ice cream. 2 drinks 1 cup of coffee!! £58 is a bargain! Service was second to none and very well looked after at all times! Nothing was too much trouble! Can't wait for our next visit to the high tea!!!"

"Recently went to listen to some live music here with a friend. When we arrived we were called over quite snippily by one female member of staff who wanted to check our ID. She rejected two forms of ID from me for no reason, saying that my first ID could be fake, and my driving license was not accepted for no reason. She then said neither of us would be served, giving no explanation. We decided to stay at the bar to listen to the music and went into the toilet. However, while we were in the toilets, she quietly followed us into the bathroom. We were unaware of her being there and spoke about her rude behaviour earlier. After she heard the comments made, she threw us out of the pub. Very odd and rude behaviour from this member of staff."

"Our experience at The Bell Rock was so good that a review had to be written! I’d like to say that everyone’s plate was wiped clean, but that would be a lie …. Because the portion sizes were so big! Amongst the ten of us we all agreed that they made the best chips ever! Everything was so delicious… well, almost everything…. The only reason we didn’t award 5 stars was because we found the Sticky Toffee Pudding exceedingly bland ….. totally lacking in the wonderful sticky toffee taste. Everything else was excellent! I can guarantee we’ll be back!"
