"Positives: the waitress was rushed off her feed (understaffed) but was always polite and supportive, the restaurant part was not too noisy compared to other Liverpool St places, was not charged for 3 mains due to poor quality food Negatives: food was not good. fish and chips ok (we had 2), but the pie (3) was bad with puff pastry that looked like and bounced like a burger bun with a filling that was nearly inedible, and the entrecote steak quite gristly and thin. Price quality ratio was poor for even for London, e.g. how 3 small tempura prawns can be 9.5 gbp, and simple Spanish wine at 10 gbp/glass Needless to say I would not recommend for food, but for a quick drink not too bad"

"Hotel is beautiful! Front of house staff were brilliant, but will never stay again!!!! Asked for a late checkout and was quoted £80 but was charged £100!! The breakfast was dire! Cold an the person working couldn't be bothered to get some more plates?? So had to eat off side plates, when I spoke to the the restaurant manager I was told it would be removed from the bill. It wasn't! I've had to ring to try and get a refund! Not the what you would expect from a high end hotel!!!!"

"Love eating here. there is a nice relaxed atmosphere with friendly staff. I am disabled and I find a lot of restaurant seating is very unpleasant, but the seats here are comfortable, making for a better culinary experience. eating is always nice with very interesting menu choices; it is hard to choose what you sometimes have! I especially liked the cavolo nero starter and my man recommends very the brioche brot and butter pudding. always excellent every time"

"Like a lot of older hotels it has seen better times and some rooms are in need of an update. Very clean though and the rooms are massive and good beds as well. Didn't have one nights bad sleep in 2 weeks. The staff are very nice courteous and helpful no complaints there. The restaurant is a letdown though as it's expensive and there isn't much choice. Not even a curry! The Steaks and the Lasagne were very good, avoid the fish and chips at all costs. The triple cooked chips were not fresh they were frozen home fries from the supermarket I think. All in all a good stay but the restaurant needs to up it's offers. BTW there is an excellent Chinese take away a 2 minute drive down the road and they were the best I have had in years. Homemade pancake rolls huge size. Highly recommend as you can ask for a plate and cutlery from the hotel staff. Quite a few eating options a short drive from the hotel as well. One thing the plug sockets are in all the wrong places if you want to use your laptop for work. Bring an extension cable lol"
