"We have had the pleasure to visit this wonderful restaurant on several occasions, most recently this August. The vegetarian menu is the best we've tasted in Switzerland, and one of the very best anywhere. Truly excellent food, a magnificent setting above the Goms valley, and...very friendly and attentive staff, resulting in an exceptionally enjoyable experience. We are vegetarian, and have always had the seasonally-varying vegetarian menu. The cooking is inspired: beautifully balanced combinations of flavours, innovative and intriguing, but at the same time anchored in really local and vibrantly fresh ingredients. The food is a perfect reflection of the setting amidst nature and surrounded by mountains. We've loved every dish we've tried, from amuses-bouches to dessert. Stand-out dishes from our recent visits included a soup flavoured with hay (amazing depth and richness of flavour , a medley of pumpkin (beautifully designed and executed, absolutely delicious , and mushroom parcels with the best selection of field-fresh mushrooms I've ever tasted (I am daydreaming about this one as I write... . There's also an excellent wine list with some lovely wines from Wallis, and an impressive range of choices from elsewhere (worth a visit to the website to study in advance, as the selection is almost overwhelmingly good . The staff are very welcoming, the service is excellent (formal without being unfriendly, attentive without being intrusive . The owners (The Chef, Peter Gschwendtner, and his wife Brigitte are excellent hosts, friendly and enthusiastic about their vision. The dining room is very comfortable, with plenty of space and time to enjoy the food. and the outside area has spectacular views for drinks or dining if the weather allows. In short, it's a really great restaurant, that we'd wholeheartedly and highly recommend!"
