"After a friendly reception we were accompanied at our reserved table. The upper immediately passed the menus and then recommended an aperitif. It quickly followed a greeting from the kitchen. We had three different appetizers. An appetizer was served in conjunction with a recommended menu. We had tuna carpaccio with very fine marinade, salmon with extra fat dip. We also ate salmon with asparagus and guards. Everything exquisitely decorated and arranged. As an intermediate we had a potato soup with truffle oil. Very well seasoned. The most important courses went from seasonal asparagus with sauce Holandaise, as well as two types of ham, via a delicate rabbit lobe to pork medals with dumplings and beans. The portion sizes are perfect, it is always considered a great approach and the taste convinces. The dessert was changed on request and we have a glass with Bavarian cream and raspberry sauce. I would describe the restaurant as a restaurant with upscale cuisine. However, prices are reasonable."

"We were in the hotel and firstly overlooked the restaurant until we saw the menu card. Decided to go in for dinner one night and was pleased about the service level, knowledge and food. Just one of those good steady restaurants that do an excellent job every day of the week. Can't go wrong if you are in the area."

"I must say I'm surprised to see the low rating of this restaurant. We recently had lunch here, just decided to step in when most places seemed to be closed on a Sunday afternoon. The service was fantastic! Very fast and polite. The waiter did...great job explaining the dishes, the food arrived fast and we really had absolutely nothing to complain about. The food was delicious and portions were huge! We would definitely eat here again!"

"We had planned to stop here towards the end of a walk in the area in itself, a recommended excursion, especially around Riessersee with very little idea of what to expect, other than it is an Alm. Eventually we emerged out of the...wood and came across the alm in a little clearing. We were quite surprised how big the restaurant is and, considering it was a sunny Sunday in June, how quiet it was. This certainly was not due to the food or the prices. We were presented with an extensive menu the waitress realising we were talking English amongst ourselves, offered us English menus and even offered to try to speak English, although was patently relieved when we said we could talk in German! The prices were also reasonable, especially for the quality of the food. One of my companions was especially tempted by the choice of three different trout dishes on the menu. We ate on the large terrace outside the alm. There is a small pond there with,on clear days, a view to the mountain Waxensteine not as spectacular as the one you get from Riessersee, however, still very atmospheric. The waitresses were polite and timely (although admittedly they didn´t have so many covers to serve). The food was very very tasty and much appreciated after our walk. I have already recommended it, and it was only yesterday that we were there! Inside, we noticed an enormous stove and there seems to be a very large dining area. I imagine that the ambience is very different in winter, however, I imagine it is equally pleasant. The whole place seemed particularly clean. I am sure it must get really busy on occasions, in order to need to be so big; their website say they can seat up to people. I fully intend to revisit. It took us about minutes to walk back to Garmisch centre from there, so it would actually make quite a pleasant excursion combined with the see in itself."
