"We actually only stopped in while hiking down the mountain, just to use the restroom. It smelled so wonderful in the front foyer that I went back outside to get my wife to bring her in. We decided to see what the restaurant was like, maybe get a snack this place had not come up in our research of Rigi restaurants previously. We were seated right at the window, with a beautiful view. And then we were treated to one of the most incredible meals we've ever had. The chef himself, Benjamin Just, came out to greet us and see if we had any questions. We explained that we weren't even expecting to eat, but that we were excited to try new things, and told him that were happy to turn him loose to bring us whatever he thought would be exciting and fun to try. We tried different breads and cheeses, a dish with poached egg, Hollandaise sauce and asparagus, another dish with a smoked vennison in a creamy garlic basil sauce with freshly chopped Russian taragon, and a dessert with Swiss strudel and cream and sorbet and about 200 different flavors that just exploded in our mouths. And he also brought out small soup samplers, so we could try different flavors and textures. It wasn't just good it was as good as any meal I've ever had, in any country. Even the wine was fantastic their recommendations perfectly complimented each dish. Everything was wonderful the food, the wine, the attention from Chef Just, even the waiter who took care of us as if we were the only table he'd have all day (we weren't). We give this restaurant our highest recommendation if you're going up Rigi, and want to enjoy beautiful views and superb food in a lovely and quaint dining room, this is a don't miss it place. And to think we almost walked right by it..."

"We went there for the half day spa on my birthday and then for dinner at the Alexander. Arrived by ship, later very far away with the luggage on foot, because nothing goes there... For 110. we got a basket with towels and a bathrobe for both people. The fitness area was small, the wellness area was good, also rather small and the outdoor pool had a very nice view, but the floor in it was completely rusted... The cloakroom is extremely narrow. In the drinks room, the syrup was unfortunately not written about what it contained so I wasn't sure whether I could drink it because of the allergy, and they didn't know when I asked Luzern 37. paid for the whole day, and got much more and a much larger selection... It was also said that as a birthday child you get a glass of Prosecco, the service staff knew nothing about it when you served it, so it wasn't guest oriented at all. The food was also incorrectly recorded on the portions, but it's not that important. So far food has tasted good (Barley Soup, Beef Tartare, Asparagus Raviolli, Seafood Pasta, Coconut Blueberry Glace), but the smaller portions were really small and very expensive for the amount. Otherwise everything was okay and it was a nice day despite the weather. However, the bus stations are incredibly far and this hotel is difficult to reach in bad weather and with heavy luggage.
