"We have come to Axel 's on several occasions for work-related meals, as it is close to the office and serves a variety of dishes to a variety of pallets. The restaurant is cozy and visually very pleasant. There are several outdoor areas with seating, one with wooden fireplace, and the interior is clean and organized, with several unique aesthetic touches such as a warm fireplace in the entrance and various exposed cooking elements, such as a large Rotisserie and a wood stove. The seat is comfortable and well furnished to accommodate large groups. In terms of food, there are a variety of options, with a range of starters (including a happy hour menu), various soups/salades, and many possibilities for the main course, from hand held (tacos and sandwiches) to full participants. The dishes I had or shared were always enjoyed by me and others. The service is fast, so the food is still hot when it comes to what is particularly important for the wood fired items that keep their smokey smell and taste well. The starters are somewhat small for the price, but are of high quality and are well presented. One of the highlights of the menu is the unique sauces that are offered to give them an attempt to spin on stacked items. The beverage menu is also quite extensive as they have a full bar and a number of tap beers. The standards are also available as expected, as well as some local and craft varieties. Overall, Axel 's is a great place for a group meeting or a quiet meal with a few friends. The bar also offers a welcoming environment for solo visits and the outdoor seats provide a great warm weather."

"We went for a birthday celebration. On 3 occasions I attempted to have a candle put in my partners dessert. When the dessert came, no candle was placed for the birthday. furthermore, when I went to use my Foodie card for a 10 percent discount, I was told that on Lobster nite no card is accepted. I was perplexed because only one of us had lobster nite menu. The other person ordered from the regular menu so a partial discount should have been given. The next day I called the manager to complain about the card as well as the lack of candle for the birthday celebration. She said she is sorry about the lack of follow thru re: the birthday celebration and she stood firm on no foodie card permitted. I feel that she was laissez faire on both counts. It's a shame because the food itself was good but as far as customer satisfaction, they lack courtesy and consideration for somebody coming for a special celebration."
