"Chef Laena just shakes her head at you people. The bad reviews are from idiots who think Volcano rolls and ordering popcorn shrimp rolls off the menu are sushi . Yep, two reviews below me? That bad review? Couple literally didn 't even LOOK at the menu and began screaming about popcorn shrimp. That sauce it was swimming in? He did that on purpose most likely because you were SO loud and rude my husband and I couldn 't enjoy watching the chef SLICE OUR SASHIMI FRESH in front of our face. Like seriously- I know I did not just see Katsuya and Lure Fish House? Let me guess, you think Applebees is top notch too, right? Family dinner night at AYCE Gogi? Typical valley reviewer style- SO MID.Sushi is fresh, I get sashimi and actual sushi so I watch them slice my stuff and I 've only had an issue once, which was resolved with a refund and about 15 apologies from the sweet old Asian lady that runs the place. Wouldn 't know about things drowning in sauce because if I wanted American rolls I 'd go to Robata. Yep, I said what I said- let your gentrification set in. The negative one star is for the incident and the price- the pricing is outrageous for the area, I 'm guessing they 're getting it in from Reel though since they 're one of the only Hotate suppliers and let me tell you as a chef ordering from them is like paying the price of a BMW and then signing away your first born. I 've always had good service and decent simple food."
