"We stop by here for a drink almost every time we're in Cozumel. They make pretty good Mojitos and a lot of oversized frozen drinks. If you're out walking the square it's a good place to go and cool off on a hot day. Almost always seems to be a breeze blowing there."

"Little local hole in the wall. A true family restaurant. Mom served us, daughter (8 or 9) patting out the tortillas for our order, dad working the grill. This is the first place I have been where the tortillas are made to order. What a treat - soft and crispy and hot and luxurious wrapped around the generous chicken tacos. The tortas were huge and fresh and loaded with lettuce, tomatoe, onions and avocado. Hot, hot meat with cool crisp veggies and rich avocado all on a ciabatta style bun. 5 of us ate here for 212 pesos (about $16). No liqor or beer here, just pop. 4 tables crammed in and a steady stream of locals. You are basically in the family's front living room and the decor matches - knick knacks, family photos, old christmas decorations and some sketchy wiring give the place it's atmosphere. Do not expect to be impressed by the look of the place, but if you look closely, it's very clean. Friendly, smiling service. No english, but no problem - they'll be happy to serve you. Open for lunch, supper and into the night."

"My family stopped here after a trip to the Coz Humane Society because we wanted to patronize an establishment that supports it. The sushi we ordered was incredibly good. The rolls were twice as big for half the price than we can get at home. One roll each and an order of noodles to split was enough to fill the three of us and then some and the sushi had fresher ingresients than I am accustomed to. We will definitely visit again next year. Thanks for a great meal Rock'n Java!"

"I spied this place on my trip in Nov of 08 but didn 't get to try it out until now. I liked it so much I went twice. I tried another loncheria in the market that had the same kind of cuisine, but it was a disappointment, so I had to correct my experience by going back to Santa Maria. This place does not have a sign. Look for the loncheria that borders the street on the southwest corner of the market. Their menu is written on office style whiteboards. The Indonesian Fried Rice is delicious with very delicate flavor. The texture of the rice is perfect! I order it mixta with shrimp, pork, and eggs. We also had the Bawang Goreng Ati (garlic chicken livers a little over cooked, but the flavor was so yummy. The Cumi Empanizado (breaded squid is a generous portion--they all are, and tasty. I might have mixed the name here, some Spanish and some Indonesian. The meal is a more expensive than other loncherias, about $16 US for 2 dishes and a soda, but as I said before, the portions are generous. There is a young man (the son? who speaks English, otherwise, the man and woman who run the place don 't. Their open hours are Mon-Sat 8-4"

"Off the beaten path on Ave 25 south of Calle 3 this is a small local restaurant with authentic Mexican food. My spouse always goes for the queso rallanos on Wednesday. They also have liver and onions on Wednesday as well. I tried the pechuga empapelada today and was pleasantly surprised. The chicken breast was cooked and served in an aluminum foil bag. Tasted like it was cooked in pure butter and cheese. What a flavor. Many other items on the menu that are also very tasty. If you come in via cruise ship ask a taxi driver to take you to this restaurant for a great meal."

"I have been to several of the other shrimp taco spots on the island on other trips and they are fine but wanted to try this spot for the variety of tacos… We went to the small shop down from the Mercato and had shrimp tacos (good but not as freshly cooked as we had a Camillo’s), shrimp ceviche tostada /avocado- delicious but served a bit too warm for this gringa- still good. Drew liked it better than Camillo’s as it was not as limey and you could taste the shrimp better. What I really really really loved here is the poblano cheese relleno taco- have you taco fans had these yet? I think these relleno tacos alone are worth stopping into if just for a snack. Its a quick stop in and the prices are great!"
