"My friend originally wanted to go to the Chinese buffet at the COSMO, but they were too busy and the queue was long. We needed to eat something when we went to the tattoo, so we had no time to wait. Outside was very busy with people who had a drink and we wanted to go to Nando. But once in the mall we could see that the Playfair had more space/seat inside. We found a place simply and quickly ordered. Although super busy, it was easy to order and food was delivered quickly. Although I was back home in various Spoons stores many times, I never had the curry before, so I was a bit comprehending what was to be expected. Don't worry. The food was delicious and filling. I thought the part was a little on the small side, but the Naan Bread and Poppadoms fill you. Good prices and good value for money and I got my alcohol free Kopperberg fix so I was happy. If you're not fussy and don't mind, easy, delicious food, then Obspoons will be yours to the place. Toilets are clean, but the sinks are a little funny placed low and the taps are at an odd angle. Apart from that, good place to eat."

"I am aware that our geographic survey in all edinburgh is not entirely what it could be and will be from where we tend to spend most of our time. So when there was an opportunity to lunch in polwarth, I jumped by chance. for the first time the queen vicky had suggested the piecebox that sounded good to me. I had visited one because the nearby odds ends, and I heard good dinge about streat hawker in the polwarth tavern, but that is otherwise quite unexplored territory for me."

"Our daughter who is a frontline Healthcare worker in Edinburgh is currently off work due to illness. We are in Ireland and are unable to take care of her. Friends of hers in Australia made contact with THE BLUEBIRD CAFE in Edinburgh and ordered the...most wonderful brownies and scones and they also sent a caring note which was personally delivered to our daughter’s apartment by a wonderful lady from THE BLUEBIRD CAFE. Our daughter was stunned with this wonderful surprise and gesture and it was an emotional morning for her. This caring thought and service gave her a huge boost in her time of need. We are extremely grateful to know that a business will still go such a long way in the current climate to bring hope and help to some one who needed a little care and support during their time of need. Well done and a big thank you to BLUEBIRD CAFE."

"I heard about this place before so I didn't expect anything else than a great hot dog. And that's exactly what I got! I ordered a Top Dawg with tomatoes, onions, jalapenos and Louisiana hot sauce. It was good and spicy and exactly to my taste. Emily Campbell went for the Lazy Dog and was quite happy with hers as well. Overall we liked the food and the lady that served us but there was no one else in the resturant at around on Saturday which was rather strange. There was no atmospehere! I would advise them to pull up their blinds which were almost all the way down at that time. The concept is good but I don't think many people know the restaurant is there. If they push marketing a little bit more this could become a trendy place to go to in Leith."

"We were visiting Edinburgh from the USA and were very impressed! Don't be deterred by the one or two negative reviews below...this place is lovely. It's welcoming, warm, and cozy. It also had the best espresso out of all the spots we tried in Edinburgh...which is saying a lot because good coffee in the UK is hard to find, in our experience. The food is delicious and you can tell it's made with love. Finally, you must try their Victorian Sponge Cake.....it was AMAZING."
