"The ambience, decor and food. Everything about Carter Blanche is French. The service was great. We ordered a portion of sand lobster, grilled kingfish, pomfret, grilled calamari and Puducherry special curry which is served with rice and chapati. A first try at sea food, must say I loved the kingfish and calamari. The prices are a bit top notch ; cost us a 4.5k."

"Terrible behaviour of the manager when confronted about the false charges on our bill. They over charged us by over 40% and refused to take responsibility for their actions. The food was terrible as well. They ruined a perfectly good experience."

"Don Giovanni was the first restaurant I visited after moving to Pondicherry almost a year ago. While this review comes a bit late, both my first visit and a recent one mirrored each other, compelling me to write this.<br>
What I like about the place is it's rooftop seating. It gives you a lovely view of the town, sometimes interrupted by ugly buildings.<br>
Once you clamber into that no-good elevator upstairs, you enter the simple dining area, and you are immediately greeted by the French proprietor, a jolly guy. The waiters there are mainly North Indian fellows, who didn't quite understand what we needed until we switched to Hindi, the first time I visited.<br>
We were a group of 8, with limited time at hand. So we ordered immediately in hopes of faster service. But that was not the case. The food took a long long time to come. The food overall was decent. I'm a vegetarian, with not many options. I chose the gnocchi only to be disappointed. But the other dishes were quite nice, especially the pasta with the bacon.<br>
My biggest complaint was the tiramisu. It was the worst piece of cake I had ever had in any place. The place is definitely pricy, but overall, if the dishes are carefully chosen, it's a decent, happy meal."

"The roof top restaurant is one of the best in White Town near the Promenade beach. After 5 nights in White Town, my wife and I were walking around the French town trying to find a good dinner. We met chef Alexander at the hotel gate. He invited us in. We were not sure but agreed and it was one of the best decisions in Pondicherry. The young chef( he said he was trained by an Italian sous chef in Goa) served the best sea food. The bacon wrapped prawns was delicious. The restaurant even serves salmon. We tried Basa( which is the best in French town). Alexander and his staff paid special attention to ensure we enjoyed the food. Thank you Villa Krish and Alexander for making our evening wonderful.<br>
Will visit you guys again.<br>

Tip - if the weather is pleasant, chose the beautifully lit roof top restaurant. Ask for chef Alexander, the young man will be more than happy to come and discuss food. And then let him show his magic while you have fun and enjoy Pondicherry.<br>"

"Wood fire pizza here is well made and very tasty. the art painted on the walls is unique. it is a beautiful place to spend time. the prices are also appropriate. it is so easily accessible in the center of pondy when they are in this side of the city."
