"I've been coming to this cafe since I was small. It may have changed hands over the years but the quality of service and food has not. The food was lovely, the double bacon cheeseburger was one of the best my partner has had. I had the cottage pie which was piping hot and full of meat. The young lady serving was attentive and so pleasant. The couple cooking were lovely too. Its good, home cooked food within a lovely atmosphere. Its still as good as I remember it from my last visit 12 years ago. It brought back some lovely happy memories. If you are looking for a place for breakfast, lunch, a light bite or just a lovely cappuccino, then come to The Galley in Burnham."

"Thus is a charity run cafe and may well be closing soon, I for one will try everything to help to save it as it's a hub of our village where a lot of people meet......especially the elderly which is so important for them. If you are ever in cheddar please take a little time to have a cuppa or lunch in it, the food is very good and it's very friendly and also friendly to dogs."

"Stopped here and hoc travelling through Bridgewater. Being in desperate need of coffee and breakfast we were seated quickly. Service was quite slow and indeed our orange juices never arrived. However the coffee and food were excellent. Good kids menu too and kids very welcome....Staff and customers with the exception of an old person who should know better really nice."

"We had arranged to meet some friends here for lunch. On arrival I sat at the bar waiting for service and when the landlord appeared he seemed perplexed. When I said we were there to have some lunch he replied that he couldn't do lunch...today. This was despite the fact that the pub already had a few visitors eating lunch and there were menu boards all over the place advertising....lunch. There were even welcome boards outside, advertising....lunch. Plus, the smell of deep-fried food was wafting into the bar area from the kitchen. I was so taken aback by the reluctance to serve us that I didn't really know what to say and we quickly left. It was a very awkward and frosty conversation and despite the fact I love to support traditional local pubs I could not honestly recommend this place to anybody, A great pity."

"Great local village pub in the heart of the cheddar gorge. Really friendly welcoming staff behind the bar. The young lady behind the bar was great and made an effort to also shout thank you and goodbye as we left. Food was really nice, good...portion size. Great cheese and biscuits on the desert menu. Booking is advised. Will definitely return."

"I am so fussy with breakfast out but I think this was the best breakfast out I’ve ever had. Staff were so lovely and friendly and despite being in a tourist trap town it wasn’t badly priced at all. All breakfasts should come with double potatoes."
