"My another approach to Western cuisine in Taiwan and another failure. Relax, it wasn't very spectacular failure, but it confirms my supposition that finding a really remarkable eatery serving American or European dishes in Asia is like finding a golden grail. Let's start with the positives. The place is relatively nicely decorated, and the burger I ordered tasted not bad, and by Asian standards I would say even very good. Traditionally, I can't get over how it is possible that with the change of price status from inexpensive to moderate the friendly service turns into snippy, serious, without a hint of a smile. Did I fill with my moderate rated burger? Of course not. However, I was more stung by the note in the menu that every person sitting at the table must order something from the card. Dear Ooh Cha Cha several years of traveling around the world and you were able to surprise me with something new you probably just didn't want to with something like that..."

"Ahhh, vegan bakery in Taipei! The idea is fantastic, the execution also has its pros, but not everything works as it should. But let's make it step by step. The place is small, you can put cakes and rolls yourself on a tray, and then eat them on site or take away. On-site rolls can be eaten at one of two small tables. Unfortunately, you can feel a bit strange, because often one of them is occupied by the service. It also happened once to me that both tables were taken by them. There is no bathroom, so you can't wash your hands before eating and you need to go to a public toilet about 100 meters away. On the other hand, when I took the rolls for take-out, before I realized what had happened, the staff packed three rolls each in a separate plastic bag, and then all three into another maybe vegan, but not ecological. Let's get to the sweets. Cinnamon roll is the best one. Although not as good as in most European countries, there is not much to cling on to. Some other rolls are also quite tasty, but most are too dry. They lack some filling, coating, something more specific in taste. Asian countries are not known for their tasty sweets. Hence, no one will bring rather beautiful memories for a lifetime, but on the other hand it is one of the best vegan bakeries on this continent where I ate, hence the positive rating. The prices are also very reasonable."

"Read more in this vegan taipei guide: [hidden link] soul r vegan is a small vegan restaurant that offers a relatiw large menu, including some hard to find items in other restaurants. besides the classic pasta, risotto and burger you will find dishes such as vegan steak on a chic and vegan black ink paste. on the iron table you will find a fleshy steak with mushrooms, spaghetti potatoes and vegetables. the slightly sweet engraving goes well with the ingredients. the ink paste is delicious, but be prepared for their lips and teeth to become black after eating! their desserts are also great. tiramisu is made with layers of vegan cream and biscuits. it is as creamy and tasty as they would imagine. also other desserts like cream brulee and lemon cheesecakes are great. Although it is pricier than most other veg sites in taipei, the high-quality food here deserves the recommendation."

"The blue cheese burger was glorious, an intense burst of flavour with every bite. The spicy fries were warming but not as spicy as I personally could handle (which is a lot), and the sour cream was a nice touch to switch up the flavours. I also ordered a salted caramel milkshake which was so rich, creamy and tasty. It was expensive but worth it. I left very full and very pleased. The atmosphere gets a 4 because there was someone on the phone in the kitchen, delivery guys coming in and out, and the music in the kitchen was both different and just as loud as the music in the seating area, which was a little odd. It wasn't a huge deal but it was still part of my experience."
