"It was by accident I discovered this small fast food vendor in the Food Court of the Pacific Mall in northeast Calgary. I ordered the BBQ Beef Sub (banh mi sandwich) and was I ever surprised by the incredible flavours I encountered as I consumed this work of art! The petite lady, who made my order is an absolute master of this art. The subs are so good I will drive across the entire City of Calgary to get one of these wonderful subs.I have visited there several times and the quality never varies from outstanding. I have tried the Viet Subs at many other places but have never found one that compares."

"The food was very good BUT we ordered the steak frites, our server missed the order and they sold out so we didn't get to have that. Also tried to order the pork cheeks but they weren't serving them. Grrr. In spite of having made a reso 2 weeks prior, we were sat upstairs at a table that was far too large for our group of four right under a speaker. Our server was very pleasant, but never refilled a wine glass, and missed the order for frites. So overall, just three stars. But the food is very good..."

"I had the lamb tenderloin which was beautiful, with carrots and a delicious sauce. My dinner date had the beef tenderloin which was also delicious apparently. The service was great too, best meal we've had at River Cafe for a long time."

"My hubby and I go to this amazing restaurant quite a bit and thoroughly enjoy the food. Yesterday we ordered a pizza and it was the worst pizza we have ever had. We don’t know when it was made but certainly not yesterday. It was...dry, tasteless, tough and I have never seen a pizza only 1/4 inch thick."
