"When set against the small cafes selling pizzas or high-end restaurants costing you €60 at least for lunch, we thought Vino Rocco fills a rather pleasant in-between gap. We were in a hurry and just wanted a “plat du jour” with some wine. The food changes daily. I had a very nice farm raised chicken with vegetables, all very well cooked and a pichet of more than acceptable rose wine. My partner had a very nice terrine with salad and copious amounts of rather delicious crusty baguette.All the plats du jours are about €7 a go and there’s also a selection of salad or terrines. Interestingly, as part of Vino Rocco, there’s a wine cave. It offers a range of Provencal roses and whites, but also some decent Bordeaux and Burgundy wines and all at none Cote d’Azur prices. They had some champagne on offer, which we picked up at €16 a bottle. It’s certainly a place we’d go back too as it’s unfussy, there’s no pressure, the food is wholesome and if the mood takes you, you can buy a bottle of wine from the cave and sit under the trees and enjoy the sunshine."
