"We rented a villa close by and we stopped in to get a few things: baguette, wine and we even had a nice café crème. This place is a cool French grocery store and carries all of the necessities: milk, bread, butter, cold cuts, cheeses, wine, beer and even cleaning supplies and newspapers. We liked it so much that we went back a few times. The staff is friendly and helpful (I asked for a business card so that we could add the details here on TA)."

"Charlys' bar is our "neighborhood" spot. We live just down the stairway from this bar which is located on the Place du Marché aux Légumes. This is an exceptional location with lovely flower gardens, many restaurants, and photo spots for children. Children can look through the head of a lobster or crab to have their photo taken. The bar has been a popular spot for all of the 8 years that we have been traveling to St. Malo. The waitress greets us with our usual order of "deux petits cafés et deux verres d'eau" as we find a seat. She is an exceptional waitress handling all of the tables on the terrace by herself. Both inside seating (coffee is 20 centimes less than on the terrace) and terrace seating with an awning for really warm days are available. They serve breakfast in the morning and drinks the remainder of the day."

"Bons produits, glaces variées et succulentes. Nous n'avons cependant pas pu apprécier ces produits du fait d'un accueil froid et pressant. Quant à notre gaufre on nous a tout simplement expliqué qu'une gaufre devait se manger cuite a l'extérieur et liquide à l'intérieur. Agressées par la cuisinière qui a toujours fait comme ça (fille de la patronne). Même si la gaufre ne nous a pas été comptée nous avons été échaudées et ne leur tirons pas notre chapeau."
