"I came to the Nashville Farmer's Market for the first meal of my trip, and I thought I'd stop by this nice-smelling BBQ place since I figured I could get all the other international cuisines back home on the Northeast. My friend and I shared a brisket platter and half-rack of ribs (ribs only available on Fri and Sat) with fried okra, beans, and grits. I thought all the food was decent, but paled in comparison to the barbecue we had later during our trip. The ribs were well-seasoned but quite tough, needing a fork and knife (actually 2 forks since we broke one against the meat) to cut into rather than the tender pull-apart I hoped for. The brisket on the other hand was tender and pull-aparty, but not very seasoned and needed the BBQ sauce provided. The grits and okra were pretty good, but just not that hot and fresh since they came scooped out of the counter. We ended up not finishing the half rack and definitely could have done a quarter rack plus the brisket, and we ended up taking a quarter rack back to our room. Made a filling midnight snack, but after having tender fall-apart ribs elsewhere, I couldn't help but wish we had those instead."

"We attended a funeral that was in the neighborhood of this restaurant location. After the services, we researched TA to see what four star plus rated restaurants were nearby. This one came up. At 1:00 in the afternoon, nine of us headed over and dined at this location. It is cafeteria style where you order first and then sit down. There was available seating-we put two tables together. I ordered the two meats and two sides plate. Brisket, and smoked Turkey with baked beans and apples. You get a choice of cornbread or toast. It is plenty of food. My husband got the ribs with two sides. The ribs fell off the bone. He got about 7 bones. Everyone was pleased with their food. It was tasty, hot and plentiful. There was only one negative to report and that was the choice of bbq sauce. All of the sauces were too fancy with some extra ingredient like vinegar or gravy or chili spice. All they needed was something with a sweet baby rays or similar flavor to whatever is used in the bbq baked beans. There was nothing like that in the eight choices of sauce. So I just used the juice from my baked beans as my sauce. Aside from that negative, I would definitely dine here again. It was very good."

"Fix the Service Model it is a joke. Placed a to go order by phone. Showed up 15 minutes later to pick it up. We first went to the place where you put in your orders in house and pay for your food in house, since there was no line, a girl at the cash register, and it was directly in front of the kitchen where the food was prepared. Seemed to make sense but what do I know? But no, she said to go orders are at the bar . And she goes back to standing around doing nothing. It isn 't particularly busy, no one is in line to order food from her. "This place has hands the best grill in the city. When I go through nashville, I'll make it a point to stop here. there are a few places, but this is the best definitiw. I go to the rib. Something I love is that they offer all the different types of sauces, so I can get KC style because I enjoy the smokiness."
