"We have eaten here three times now, with a great meal each time. The owner and staff are welcoming and cooperative, the food is tasty and authentic (we've visited Turkey), and servings are a good size. The restaurant is a little out of the way in the Manuka shopping area of Canberra, but it is well worth tracking down."

"Late Sunday evening I met my husband at 8.30pm when he finished a 10hour working shift. We wanted to have dinner and after looking at the restaurants/cafes closing for the night I chose the Turkish Pide House as there were still diners seated at tables and I looooove Turkish Food. Although the chef was preparing to finish for the evening we were told we could dine. The waitresses did not seem to happy about our arrival but I put their unwelcoming vibe aside as we needed to dine prior to driving 60km home. We chose the small banquet for 2 comprising fresh garlic bread and a platter that included zucchini puffs, delicious tender chicken shish-kebab rice, and salad. Of course the meal also included 4 yummy dips and more Pide bread. While waiting for the meal to be served I commented that I loved the décor and I was amazed that on the many occasions I have travelled to Woden to meet my husband that he had never suggested the Turkish Pide House. He then "fessed" ups and said "oh I've eaten here many times and enjoyed many staff farewell lunches here and the décor was updated last year" Hmm! was this his dining secret? Well people I'm sharing this experience with you as I think if you are a lover of middle eastern food you will love the food at Woden Turkish Pide House. Even though it was late the food was fresh, flavoursome and delicious and the owner even offered us coffee at the conclusion of the meal, but we did not want to impose on the staff and wear out our welcome. During a friendly conversation with him he revealed he was the original owner of the Pide House at Jamison so many years ago. We left at 9.45pm and I thank the Turkish Pide House for their hospitality. However the waitresses could do with a lesson from the owner and be friendlier whilst serving diners and a smile would not hurt. I was soo impressed with the food that I want to return on Easter Saturday (if the Pide House will be open) with a relative who will be visiting us."

"To say that Zeus Street does Greek cuisine a disservice is an understatement this place is an embarrassment to the entire concept of food preparation. The dips are bland, the pita bread has all the texture of a McDonald's bun, the squid is soggy...and the lamb shoulder tastes like a protein substitute prepared by the Soviets to feed cosmonauts. The pricing is extortionate, particularly for drinks."
