"First time at this restaurant. It is a small narrow place, with excellent food. All made in house and gorgeous. Highly recommend. It is friendly and very popular locally for dine in and takeaway. I really enjoyed my meal and everything that we shared on...the table was beautifully presented and utterly delicious."

"I love the Swanson Hotel. Although I live in the area in Erskineville, I have been going to the pub for the past year and I wished I would have come earlier. I come from time to time for dinner and my favourite food is the Duck Confit with pomegranate salad. It is fantastic. They always do specials during the week i.e. on Wednesdays the schnitzels are $10 each and are delicious and on Thursdays their pizzas are 2 for 1. It is great value. I organised a Christmas function in December in the room upstairs near the bar and again we had a fantastic service and they prepared for us a traditional meat pie (recipe from Quebec) and it was even better than the ones made in Quebec, Canada. The decor is beautiful and the pub was tastefully renovated while keeping the integrity of its original design. I highly recommend the Swanson Hotel. They also have fine dining upstairs in a beautifully decorated dining room."

"Sashimi was really tasty, the tuna was outstanding. Excellent range of Japanese beer (Asahi on tap, plus many others) and delicious cocktails. Highly recommended."

"Great little bar with relatively cheap drinks and Coopers red on tap and great live music turned out we were only listening to the sound check and the actual gig was fully booked and we had to leave after two drinks but if the sound check was that good, the full thing must be amazing."

"A swish renovation has seen the Rose emerge as an exciting new function venue. Admittedly, it had been years since I'd stepped through the doors of this Erskineville institution but despite it looking all shiny and new, there's the same easygoing vibe. A great spot to meet for drinks."

"On Thursday evening there was a group of 10 friends to taste their good night. Enjoy a delicious delicate lamb roast with mint sauce and gravy as well as beautifully cooked vegetables. I think that meat changes in other nights. followed a sticky datum pudding, either with cream, ice or both. I have rounded my meal with a thin cappuccino, but also other coffee and tee are available. it is byo, and the total cost was $26. well rewarding and cheap. recommend a Thursday evening (only) Roast dinner."

"Our regular spot has a new menu and a group of friends and neighbours got together and gave it a go very nice but this menu has lot of vegetarian options more than normal food No more little tapas that I did enjoy"
