"Called in for lunch with my elderly mum she wanted a roast of the day. She was disappointed as they did not have one , however we both had a seniors meal. I had a steak with chips and a little salad. Steak was...thin, made for a steak sandwich really, chips were nothing special and the salad had a lot of greens. But for the price was a great meal. Mum had fish as she could not have her roast , had corn and peas and mashed potatoes- again was okay , but fantastic for the price. I added garlic bread and mum added a ice cream sundae for an extra each. A good meal."

"Great little place! old style charm, good homemade kitchen, friendly atmosphere, excellent value! they are served by people with impediments working on certificates in hospitality and food preparation. service, although not fast, is delivered with much care and pride. it is interesting to search the. objects for sale and historical artifacts. I often come here and find it a good place to take friends, because it is different, consistently good, quiet enough to chat easily and cheaply. some foods I can recommend are the soup, egg and bacon pies, huh and brie roasted sandwiches, quiche and definitiw the pavlowa."
