"Lovely historic pub with attentive and very polite lady serving. Only went in for coffee. The Latte was great but sadly my espresso was not as kicking as I would have liked. Of course, that 's personal, and maybe a one off...but I would return! They also seem to have a fantastic selection of wines by the glass (see photo) Must try next time!"

"We went to the station for lunch. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming and provided the kids with colouring to keep them occupied. The food and service was great and and good value for money. Would recommend!"

"We have been to the New Inn twice since it re-opened. I wasn't happy with the first visit but we wanted to give it another chance. On this occasion a member of the staff was so theatrical at asking what we wanted then when the food came it was even more theatrical. The main course of lamb was okay, but it costed £24.95 each. My sweet, Creme Brulee was like a small moose, £7.95. What really shocked us was the double gin tonic, considering that we were in a pub, £14.85 was absolutely extortionate!! The bill was over £100. Even though the New Inn is only up the road, we will not be going back."

"This was one of the best places I have been too in many a year. The welcome was so friendly and nothing at any time was too much trouble. My mother who is feels the cold and so they placed us at a table...in the warmest area. The food was excellent, freshly cooked, not microwaved food and full of great flavour. One of the special niceties was the fact that they had options of no bun burgers or gluten free buns and were more than happy to please the customer and satisfy any food requirements. It was a real pleasure to note that the staff were young and all so caring, an excellent example to the many younger staff elsewhere who make the customers feel that they are a nuisance. The tables were cleaned as people left! The hand cleanser and COVID signs were at the entry door and the toilet was exceptionally clean. Excellent and five star review is an injustice as they deserve much much more."

"I’m sorry, I just can’t get rid of it now, that song in my ear! ‘By the time I get to Phoenix, she’ll be rising….’. You know, the Glen Gampbell one from forever ago. It would be much more edifying to think of the Phoenix rising from the ashes, of inner renewal, of the cleansing by fire blah blah but I’m being pedestrian here and, happily humming as I walk from Sloane Square down the Kings Road, take a left at Smith Street and then already spot the warm glow on the corner there."
