"14.13Cuisine fermée patron d'une arrogance folle, sommelière discutant avec des clients !!! Et moi j'attends ! La seule chose que je puisse manger est 4 rouleaux de Printemps . Bien entendu Swiss hospitality ne don't que 2 mots inconnus!!!Déplorable à éviter pour manger !"

"We'd driven to the city to see the inspiration for the famous song "smoke on the water" and decided to eat lunch at the casino. I'd say the food was excellent but expensive (but the exchange rate is very low just now). Although we ate outside, if you dine here, you simply must go inside to see the bar and the casino. It is amazing. We ate salads which were hearty and beautifully presented, drank a beer and sat back and watched the people go by. If you like a high end-ish lunch, people watching and a bit of musical legend thrown in, you will love it here! If I wasn't driving I would have returned in the evening for cocktails and a try of my luck in the casino!"

"We were glad to find this restaurant when walking along the lakeside. It was happy to serve just a couple of coffees where there seemed very few cafes which looked over the lake. At 5 SwFr each, the coffee were not cheap, nor especially good,...and service was slow. However, it was worth it for the view of the sun setting behind the mountains across the lake. We were almost alone on the terrace when we sat down, but there was quite a throng when we left."

"It may be a bit difficult find out there. Location is the lake side of the underpass of west side of Montreux rail station. It was Spanish tapas restairant before. Now, name may be changed. The taste is natural Chinese. Price is good. A problem...is that they have a Karaoke, sometime young people are singing. It would be noisy to eat and talk. But it is not always."

"Back in Montreux and we headed straight for this authentic, excellent value restaurant. We have an apartment here it is an expensive town. In fact, it rather prides itself on being expensive. So this place is a find! Get over the fact that it...is also a betting shop and that the other customers tend to be a little bit old and definitely local. The lady behind the bar is great and the food is tasty almost rustic. I think the owner tries to trick foreign tourists into buying a salad as a starter. For the second time, having agreed to a main course coming with a salad, we were both served salads as starters that we hadn 't ordered. Of course, this could be a simple misunderstanding but I rather like the idea that this is her little trick. The salads are very good and, at 6 Swiss francs for two, must be the cheapest con ever! This is the only place where anyone can afford to drink pints in Montreux. We have tried every restaurant in Montreux this is the only one I look forward to coming back to. I know that many of our friends would not be seen dead here. It just isn 't ritzy enough. But please try it just once. It is a very old café and is the sort of place that is being pushed out by big chains. Montreux will be a poorer place when this venerable institution finally closes."
