"Where do I start ! The pub is situated in the village of Morton in Derbyshire . The site is small and quiet and has the advantage of the pub which offers good pub grub and good selection of beers and ciders etc . However...the selling point of this place are the owners, Jean and Mel and their staff Amazing! They truly love people and what they do and cannot do enough for you to make your stay enjoyable even come up to your van to see if you are ok and take drink and food orders . They also have a new shower room which is great . I will be going back and the locals are lovely thanks"

"We came here this afternoon for a family birthday. We were a large group and our table wasn’t ready, so we had to sit/ stand and wait for the people on our table to leave, which felt a little awkward and uncomfortable for us and...I’m sure them too. We had emailed our order through, as requested, three days prior to our booking. Our food came out and we were missing a whole meal and two meals had mushy peas, which we hadn’t asked for. The member of staff told us we hadn’t ordered the missing meal (a hunters chicken) and read our order as he had written it. We had to go to our email and show him that we had in fact ordered two hunters chickens and not one. One was made for the teenager who was missing and brought out. Unfortunately by the time it was brought out, most of the rest of our party had almost finished their meals! Some of our party went to the bar to order desserts and the staff asked if they could have the table they’d vacated for other guests, so they were obviously busy and we began to feel we were in the way. We hurried our desserts and left, so they could reuse our table. Despite this, the pies we ordered were absolutely delicious, the chips are some of the best I have ever eaten and the curry’s were beautiful. The child’s meal of sausage and mash didn’t come with gravy, which seemed bizarre, but we had extra with all the pies, so were able to give him some of ours. I’d like to come again, we live locally and pass on our way to and from work, so it is convenient, but I don’t think it’s suitable for a large booking, especially on a Sunday, I don’t think they can cope. We will try midweek next time and definitely have a pie again!"

"Been here a few times have never been disappointed. It’s a great pub. This time we came mid week for lunch while we were out walking the dog. Our dog was made a fuss of We were able to eat inside as they have a dog friendly area. We both had a wrap/melt this came with a free soft drink Bonus! Food was very nice hot. Chips are the best I’ve had in ages. Friendly staff good atmosphere. Will be back again again."

"Came with friends for a birthday meal had no limonade at the bar, the eating was ordered everything wrong asked for a burger with everything on him when the man is autistic came out with everything on him!!! I ordered...pie and chips asked for additional gravy came with fervent they were stone cold not asking if they had already been the chips various were cold to send it back"
