"After moving to Melbourne 3 years ago, I'm always looking forward to try new restaurants and cafes when I visit home. Grief
I went here on Saturday night with my parents and was really surprised. The food was great, I loved the Mexican decor / atmosphere and overall was great impressed. But was pretty loud, so if you warn after a quiet dinner, then warned. Grief
After visiting Mexico when I was in my teenagers, I get so sick of generic "confused Mexican", the sons of Baja really with large flavors and true Mexican dishes, with something modern twist. Grief
The drawn pork Taco was my favorite, but the whole food was incredible! Grief
We shared Mexican street corn, corn chips and hummus, rocksteak and sweet potatoes, and then I had the pork taco, and one of the Baja Fish Tacos, which were super delicious, and the fish was well seasoned and fried. Grief
My father tried the lamb Quesadilla, which was super tender and tasteful, and she also shares the oysters mentioned in dad ...

"Amazing coffee, delicious food, prompt service. I had the Potato Gnocchi with Smoked Ham Hock Broth. Omg amazing flavour and an absolutely yummy warmer for a cold winters day. It was served quickly and my almond latte equally as delicious. Great place. Loved the atmosphere. Very chilled. Thumbs up from me."

"We ate here on two occasions (Wednesday and Thursday), but were too late for Saturday night (wanted to try the veal). Food cooked fresh and the home-made gnocchi was excellent with a fabulous home-made sauce. Wine list not expensive and staff efficient and friendly."

"Mind you, this Mako fresh seafood place is in North Hobart, which has nothing to do with Mako takeaway place at the dock. Frozen/half thawed prawns at 48$ a Kg, they are big ones, but not huge, 48$ though, are you kidding me? Haven't tried their takeaway yet, their fresh/frozen seafood section simply scared me away."

"Meals were overpriced and not particularly delicious. Chips and vegetables cost extra in most cases. They try to justify the cost with a little creative Arty Farty with ingredients, including simply a vegetable or ingredient on the menu with its French name.... I guess they want to differ from your average pub, but at our party it wasn't worth the money. On the plus side the staff were friendly and attentive."

"An elegant, compact bar and moody atmosphere perfect for date night or small group of friends sharing gossip. A strong wine list wine selection and delicious food arriving from the bar kitchen cooked in front of your eyes. This is a clever and efficient...use of space. The half chicken (poussin) with creamy yogurt base and green piquant sauce was soo delicious I nearly fell off my chair. It was the most perfectly cooked chicken I’ve ever had and for only Bargain!!! The salad crunchy and fresh with a French vinaigrette. The pasta was robust in flavour but a little over cooked. I’m still dreaming of the chicken....... Our friend at the nearby Sweet Envy recommended them as one of the better places in town to eat and drink! They weren’t wrong. It’s in a more interesting part of Hobart. Definitely worth a visit if you want to get away from the city crowds and yet still central enough. I was so impressed at the effort they have gone to to include a disabled lift in such a small space."
