"Great wine and tapas in Redfern, great for people watching and action on the bike path. They also have an occasional art gallery. Staff very friendly and there is a happy hour from 5pm 6pm."

"Vascos is the place to go if you want an experience. I have been there many times solo when visiting Sydney for business, and this visit was the first with another person.It's noisy, but in a great way -created by the background of great rock and roll playlists from the 60's to the latest. I am talking Rolling Stones, Foo Fighters and so much more.The bar staff create amazing mixed drinks and the selection of beers is small but varied in style. My favourite beer was 3-sheets.The food was great quality, we had the prawns with a Calabrese style sauce and the calamari. Both good size to share.The owners and staff make everyone feel welcome, and you can tell a lot of the customers are regulars."

"One of the highlights of Surrey Hills/Waterloo. Great old pub with a nice blend of modern feel and the history of 1800's Sydney. Put this pub on your to do list because its one to do. Great service from the staff who let me taste a few IPA's before I settled on this lovely Battler. Five stars."

"I read quite a lot of reviews in order to find Sydneys best chicken wings. This place is definitely in the top list. I have had chicken wings all over the world and the ones they have are for sure good ones. The sauce is...super delicious (although not the original American buffalo). I wish we'd have had more time in Sydney to go back to that place for another wings night. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!"

"This place is closing down soon, which is a real shame. The music was great the band were really enjoying themselves and that's always a good sign of a fun evening. It's a fairly big venue, but it was full on this occasion, which made for a great atmosphere. Entry was good value, and the bar had a good selection."
