"Some of the reviews of this place are pretty bad. From my/our experience I'd be happy to go back. We both had a Chilli Con Carne with cheesy garlic-bread and a couple of pints each at lunchtime. The food was cooked fresh and it all...cost less than €30. We were happy enough to leave a tip and we'll be going back over the course of the next couple of days."

"After visiting the castle we wandered around the town looking for somewhere to get lunch. There are a lot of cafes and restaurants in Silves and all of the ones we looked at had tempting menus but we eventually decided on Al Karib. There were tables inside and outside with plenty of shade available. The menu covered most bases between Portuguese and English breakfasts! The staff were excellent although the poor waitress seemed to be the busiest person in Silves. The bread was lovely and they did perfect fried eggs for the kids. In you are in the area I would recommend a visit."

"The location is nice and the ambiente ok but the guy running the place is rude and unpleasant. Yelling at people (not us) and ruining what could be a nice afternoon. He s seemingly not a local which may explain the temper."
