"We stayed as guests at the Marriott Hotel and were looking forward to eating at this restaurant. Friday night 10th April was relatively quiet approx. 15 diners in total. The decor was uninspired and looked dated. No music so lacked ambience despite nice view over sea. Experience let down by poorly trained waiters (fingers on plate/sauce, no charm/welcome, etc. we felt they all preferred to have the night off. We picked the set menu but what a mistake felt like the food had been prepared in advance by a chef who was catering for the 'coach party crowd ' (tasteless/overcooked . With a bit of passion, a face lift, and cookery skills this restaurant could be so much better... avoid until then..."

"So if we order the server, it says sorry that we don't have a USDA-Rind, so we order wagyu. after some time the server comes on our table and says our champagne is covered by a special offer that will be 20 pounds for two. after five minutes the server comes back to say we're sorry we didn't have moët, why did they tell us about the special offer? after some time the server comes back and says sadly that we don't have a wagyu rump steak. all in a steakhouse!"

"We celebrated my mother's 89th birthday with afternoon tea. The room was beautiful and the seating very comfortable. We enjoyed scones with jam and cream immensely and the choice of freshly brewed leaf tea was incredible. The service and attention to detail was outstanding. One of the waiters even brought a small cake to the table so that I could light a candle fountain for my mother. A truly memorable experience."
