"The dining area for one was very uncomfortable and quite cold. Service was very slow as it took minutes for my water to arrive. The restaurant vibe was very energetic (which I understand) but I wish they took better care of me as a customer. Food was however, always a delight. Thank you!"

"Funny to you maybe? My first night out in Calgary Stampede. Thought I would go out and meet up with a few long time local friends and catch up. I thought nothing of it to dress in what I consider Vancouver casual - Green Royal Hem jacket, Robin's Jeans, Officine Creative leather boots. No big deal. Whoops - big deal here apparently. As soon as I walked up to the bar the heckling began. Not quiet heckling. Very loud repeated heckling. "Yo Billy Idol!" "OoooiH Billy Idol!" "Hey Billy idol". It was not going to stop until I addressed it. I finally turned and went "Hello???"There was a mix of young women and men dressed in Stampede attire sitting there yelling at me from across the bar. I was dumbfounded. My bartender simply smirked and shrugged his shoulders. I finally said, “Are you yelling at me?” To which one of the males replied: “Yeah you with your frosted tips and green jacket trying to look like Billy Idol.”“I’m not Billy Idol – thanks all the same.” Hoping this would end it.Of course it did not. One of the young women decided to come right up to me and says, “Well you do look like Billy Idol the rock star.” To which I quickly retorted “Not a compliment.” Then the main loud male pressed, “Oh so that is your real hair is it?” I said “Yes … my real hair. Not a wig.”The other gals now chime in “Are you from Sweden? Are you from Sweden?”I just could not resist at this point. “Yeah, from Sweden, via England.” They fell for that one and that seemed to shut them up. Their dullness is made up for in loudness apparently.Here I am looking at the bartender, covered in tattoos, wearing a big open shirt with medallions and a pony tail strung up over his head like it was a “no time to wash the hair day”, and they did not think for a second to have a go at him. Unbelievable.In that Vancouver second, I wanted to say “Screw this” and get in my car and race back to Yaletown Vancouver.It is ok to laugh. I laugh at me all the time."
