"On a walk along the main island drag, we happened upon what became our go-to spot on the island. Food for Thought provides fresh, healthy, homemade, and incredibly "thoughtful" fare. Tracey, who was working the storefront, doubled as an Island tour guide and a quick friend.On our first stop in, we enjoyed fresh, hot, gourmet coffee with a slice of delicious spiced apple bread made fresh that morning. That afternoon, in need of a caffeine fix and a little something to fill our bellies, we returned for more and decided to each enjoy a cup of fish chowder. Simply delicious. We couldn't resist the allure of the sweet treats coming from the chiller and opted for a SKOR square and a slice of coconut creme pie. Tracey made sure to tell us that even the yummy graham cracker crust on the pie was "made from scratch". Nice touch. We asked what was cooking that smelled so nice... She replied, "Just about everything..." and right then and there we decided we would be back the next day to see what they had in store.Day 2: In order to fuel up for our trek down to Dark Harbour (on Tracey's recommendation), we stopped in for a full coffee, eggs, toast, and sausage round breakfast with fresh fruit. It was all cooked to perfection and gave us the energy we needed. As this was our last day on the island, we decided to stop in once more (yes, for the 4th time) in order to caffeinate and enjoy the Maritime hospitality once more (added bonus: the free WiFi). Tracey greeted us once again with a smile and we enjoyed a delicious lunch. I opted for the BBQ chicken wrap with a caesar salad. Warm, fresh, and packed with flavour. My friend chose the Philly cheesesteak "sammie" and called it "the single greatest PCS sandwich she has ever tried". Of course, we couldn't stop there, and shared a peanut butter chocolate chip brownie. To die for.All this to say, if you're on Grand Manan Island, and don't stop in to Food for Thought, you're missing out.... We will be back."

"I literally left with our food 15 minutes ago and every last crumb is gone Isla Cocina is a hit at our house! We had a fish taco, 'our fav ' nacho 's (BBQ Chicken), chili cheese fries and fish bites. All were delicious!! Can 't wait to try some more!! What a treat to have on the Island!!"
