"Look at the photographs, my friends! Mecca is definitely one of the most beautiful cafes in Sydney. Surrounded by car repair yards, the cafe is situated in a former warehouse along Bourke Road. Parking can be a little troublesome during lunch hours as I spent about 15 minutes searching for an available space. The cafe features a high ceiling and huge wooden tables with black hairpin legs. <br>

The food is slightly disappointing. I tried the kimchi chicken burger and was expecting a tantalizing onslaught of sour and spicy kimchi fighting for attention from my tastebuds. However, there is minimal or non-existent kimchi. I would suggest that the chef to marinate the chicken pieces longer to get rid of the "foul" chicken smell too."

"As you can imagine, you can never really go ‘wrong’ with baked goods, the alexandria branch I believe has the bread house as well as an attached cafe. There’s a wide range of brekkie dishes, sandwiches and of course bread. In this instance we took it to go, almond croissant $5), pain au chocolat $5), pork/fennel sausage roll $7) and a chilli/ garlic sourdough twist $6.50). The croissants are good but pretty standard tastes better when lightly toasted), the sausage roll was good nice fennel flavour and juicy filling), but the star was the sourdough. Such a nice yeast flavour, great by itself but would have been even better with a bruschetta or dip of some sort. Highly recommend this!"

"While the coffee can be very good and some of the food is nice, what this cafe lacks is any kind of service and consistency. A regular customer such as myself will go in here and be treated with indifference at best, and hostility at worst. You'd think if you spent money here at least three times a week you would be treated with respect, but this is not the case. It's clear the staff have had zero customer service training as they are never friendly or helpful and act like anything you ask is a huge chore and a waste of their time. I now avoid this cafe and walk the extra 400m for a coffee or lunch."

"The best cafe in Sydney, it says on beanhunter. So I thought why not give it a shot. It was an absolute nightmare to find parking around the industrial area of Alexandria. It was unfathomable to think that the best cafe was located in hardware house. They showcased the awards that the coffee has won and introduced us to the beans. Service was great and extremely friendly and attentive. Very casual and laid back coffee shop overall.<br>

Recently intrigued by a coffee called piccolo, sounds like something from dragon ball z, I decided to try it here. Apparently he wasn't really fond of making it but nevertheless he gave it a shot and it turned out great. Perfectly roasted blend that was fresh, aromatic and not too bitter. From that point on I was converted to a piccolo drinker. I also tried the brookie, brownie cookie, which he prompted that it was made locally. It was very sweet and heavy but tasty, perfect with the coffee. I understand why it was the best cafe on beanhunter but I just can't get over how difficult it is to find parking and closes early. Worthwhile to give it a try. <br>

The guy behind the coffee machine is the real MVP because the following time I came, the coffee art didn't look as good."

"Sonoma Cafe is one of the most beautiful bakeries in Alexandria. Your sockets in Alexandria is probably your headquarters, in which pastries, bread and croissants are freshly baked. I tried her signature of Brownie and Iceled Latte. Oh man! Her brownie (with nuts) tasted smoothly and rich. Her ice latte was thick and milky. A good time to spend my afternoon with the brownies and croissants while waiting for the rain to stop."

"Awesome dining experience with a unique atmosphere. I celebrated my birthday here and was very happy from start to finish. We were blown away by the scallops and the wagyu sliders, plus the live music and the attentive wait staff. The price is reasonable for what they offer. Overall a highly recommended spot."
