"Looks really cute and liked the sound of a mushroom spaghetti dish so we hopped in for dinner. What a mistake… My pasta was a lump of spaghetti that had not been stirred from the moment it left the packet and although it was one large clump, they poured a horrible mushroom sauce and served it to me as my dinner!! What disappointed me the most is the owner served it to our table even though he could clearly see it was completely inedible. So I ended up eating bread for dinner. The owner watched with a worried face as I ate the bread, yet did nothing! As he takes our plates away (my plate almost untouched) he looks embarrassed yet says nothing…As he went to walk away we pointed out that the pasta meal was truly terrible. The bill arrives he still charged us 14 euros for a dish that was inedible. We wrongly thought he would try to do the right thing so we pointed out the obvious, the meal could not be eaten so he discounted it to 10 euros!! I’m not being stingy but if you want to serve meals that can’t be eaten you can’t expect to be paid, We called the owners wife over and she wanted to know what was wrong with my meal, why didnt like it. I sent her to the kitchen, look at it and tell me what you think. She came back a minute later saying yes, I am very sorry, no good, it has not been stirred. I will not charge you. So we gave her our card to pay. We go to leave and I say to my husband can I see the receipt and can you believe she went ahead and charged us anyway hoping we wouldn’t notice. I ended up having to stand up in front of about 6 other diners and demand a refund whist she pretended she forgot and very reluctantly gave us a refund. We have just bought a property in chinon and you could not drag me back to this restaurant. My Recommendation is to choose another restaurant, there are plenty to chose from in chinon."

"Not your average everyday restaurant. Set menu and wine for a very reasonable 20 euro. Food pretty basic but I guess more authentic than the restaurants on the tourist square. It was however very tasty and enjoyable!!! Owner very friendly and even showed us into the kitchen and his bread oven. If your looking for French haute cuisine then stay away fancy a change and bored at looking at menus? This is a good place."

"Reception and service for this road relay. excellent value for money for a complete menu at 13 €, cheese, red wine and coffee included ... some thirty entries to choose from. we then chose the veal roast / green beans. very hearty and very tender meat. Cheese tray. wide choice of desserts. For this price, we can hardly find better! We really enjoyed each other. to advise strongly, you will not be disappointed. Congratulations to the whole team of the forest relay"

"We found this restaurant by accident and initially hesitated as we couldn't quite work out the menu. Dede the owner spotted us lurking at the door and invited us to sit with a group on a large table. We sat for a couple of minutes wondering what to expect and it wasn't long before Dede filled our classes with his magic jug that never goes empty. The fabulous food of many unusual and traditional courses was served by a very friendly team who went out of their way to make sure the evening was very special. This restaurant should be listed in the French must do list and I would highly recommend the experience. The evening didn't end with the bill as the team invited us out to a bar across the street. We we had a great night and the locals made us feel very welcome magnifique"
