"Visited twice for take out a la carte. Each visit I had a pleasant experience. The woman at the counter was friendly and the food was very tasty If you don't order in advance there's about a 20 min or so wait. I ordered the cabbage, a must have) it's a juicy , buttery tasting, and flavorful delight, with a side of rice and peas and one chicken patty and one spinach patty. Since the rice and peas were dry I added the juice from the cabbage and it was perfecto! The Pattie's were soft enough to sink your teeth into as the crust was made just right. I usually don't eat the edges of crust but in this case I devoured the entire patty because the crust was not hard. I preferred the chicken one over the spinach, but next time I'll try their beef patty along with my usual chicken patty. I also ordered the brown stew chicken so tender, juicy and flavorful I also used a bit of juice from the brown stew chicken on the rice and peas as well to compare it to the cabbage juice and hey you can't go wrong with either one! Both were perfect with the entire order. I like how the portions are enough for two, or enough for lunch the next day! The pricing is fair but the Ting grapefruit soda $5) was a bit steep I'd say. But overall I can't complain about the portion size or flavor both done just right!There's plenty of parking in the shopping center."

"This is a beautiful place filled with beautiful people serving beautiful dishes. I happened to come shopping for a car in the neighborhood. I was surprised by the breadth of the menu... gumbo, and so on together with the usual soul food. Sometimes in a small restaurant these things are on the menu, but they are out. Not with Dirty South. I ordered the rubber train. It was perfectly prepared. The spices added the ingredients instead of overwhelming. Ditto for the grain bread. Not too dry, not to gooey. During later visits I had the wings, scratched greens, baked Mac, black-eyed peas, red beans and rice. The wings were made less good than I like, but that would be easy to fix, and it would be worth as the dough they use makes for an appealing treatment. For me the decor was perfect. modest, clean, funny signs and warm messages on the wall, beautiful music from the boombox. Drop the toilet door before you get in. It was also educational. I learned to order a Muddy Water instead of an Arnold Palmer. The staff was professional, warm and attractive. Everything about this place is authentic and tasteful."

"I had bovine enchiladas. It came with rice and beans on a hot plate. It came with acid cream, guacamole and fresh salsa. It was exactly what I wanted. It tasted great. My only proposal would be to add more taste to the shredded beef. It was a little gland."
