"This place was recommended to try some Costa Rican Caribbean fare. Wasn't my favorite but it may be for others. I found the food a bit tasteless and rubbery and the service was not great either, it took at leaste 20—30 mins for us to get our food and then another 15—20 mins for us to get the check."

"Very cool pop up cafe in Santa Ana smack in a garden lot. The house blend is great. Costa Rica is one of the sources in term of supply. Victor, the barista on duty is also a very cool dude. We managed to communicate with combination of broken Spanish and Google. I like the feel of this place. I noticed that they constantly have local stop by with their car for a pickup so you know it’s legit."

"My wife and I went to this restaurant on the recommendation of our Airbnb host. With the help of Waze we were able to locate the restaurant easily. At the side of the building is free parking For a variety of reasons this is not a place that I would typically go to As a person who has lived in Canada all my life, my tendency is to frequent known franchises and establishments Choso de Joel is a family run restaurant bordering on a residential neighborhood. It is not my typical restaurant Having said that, had I gone to my typical restaurant, I would have missed an incredible dining experience I had the casado con pes. (fish) I could not believe how good this dish was so much so that I returned the next day to have more. The waitress was so nice When I told her how good the food was she did me the honour of introducing her family to me (who also work there) If you are North American do yourself a favour and take a chance on this place. The food is delicious and cheap: the staff so friendly. I have been in Costa Rica visiting for a month and have been to some pretty good restaurants, choso de Joel is the best I've had."

"Bizarre... No menu, one dish with rice and beans for breakfast, 1 fish for lunch (I suspect beans and rice), coffee meh!. Friendly service, wouldn't go back there for the food...."
