"We've been driving past this place for two years now and it's never been opened. Today we were finally blessed with the opportunity to try it out, and it was absolutely worth the wait! Angel our server gave us top notch service. The food was...made fresh, made with the highest quality ingredients. We had spring rolls, pork dumplings, Kung Po chicken, and a lo mein dish, all were delicious. The Pad Thai was some of the best I've ever had! Chef Alfredo truly went above and beyond, and even came out to introduce himself! Happy they are finally open!!! Give them a try... you will not be disappointed!"

"Beautiful restaurant with delicious food! This place is slightly unassuming from the outside. But, the dining area overlooks a gorgeous desert garden. There was nobody there when we arrived for dinner but the dining room quickly filled with other guests after 7pm. Service was attentive. We got chips and a delicious tomato salsa with the table. Our sampler appetizer was incredible! For our entrees we got the mole and chicken fajitas. The mole was amazing and complex in flavor. The sesame was a nice touch. To drink we got sparkling lemonade. Definitely recommend if you're looking for an authentic meal in Todos Santos."

"A bit tough to find but they recently moved and have a really cool huge backyard type setup for food and drinks. Noel and his wife are really personable and genuine people that have brought El Refugio a long way. They have a limited menu...of offerings but whet they have is REALLY good. The Mezcal they offer is TOP notch as well. Noel has an extensive relationship base with Mezcal producers directly and his knowledge is second to none. He's quite funny and witty as well. Once you step in here you just don't want to leave and keep trying more Mezcals, they are all so different and unique. They also sell a cookbook with a bunch of cool recipes in there that we can't wait to try. This should definitely be on your list of places to try when coming to Todos."

"You have different options. when I went, I ordered the barbecue and the woman who answered explained that they took it from the menu and in place it is a soybean steak, which could be the milanesa too (it was what I asked)"

"We stopped here and instead of ordering off the menu (we didn't even look at it), decided to try the buffet. I was kind of amazed that I had no idea what I was eating but ate it anyway! Of course, the beans and rice...were delicious. There was a potato dish with veggies that was good, and another dish with scrabbled eggs. I didn't realize they were eggs until I started eating it. We were the only ones eating off the buffet and it was well into lunch time. I wanted to ask what I was eating but everyone was busy, and those available didn't speak English. Their guacamole is spicy! Fast service. Clean place. I'd go back because I'd like to try something from the menu."

"All the food is fresh. All of it is tasty. Just enough heat where there should be some heat and full of flavor. We sampled several of the grilled fishes and stuffed rellenos, margaritas, guacamole on two different trips. When we tried to go back...for a third time, we found the place closed (reservado) for a private party. This place is a family project and everyone is interested in making sure that you are well cared for."
